Withered was the flower in his hand. Bloomed for only the spur of the moment. Another failed experiment. Try 254th. Things were moving forward, but slowly, too slow for his satisfaction. He kept on looking at the dried plant in his hand until something interrupted him from his observation.

A knock, a gentle knock.

Still a bit concentrated, he just mumbled a "Come in", barely loud enough for it to be heard the other side of the door. Without thinking nor looking at who just entered, he asked,

"What might bring you here, Cavalry captain, Kaeya?"

With this question, a small laugh came from whom he had thought it was the blue haired knight. Turning quickly around he just noticed it was Y/n. They were holding a package in their hands while still snickering a bit.

"If I might ask, what brings you over here, dear Y/n?"

"I have a package for you. This came in the mail this morning. It comes from Inazuma."

After explaining that, they walked over to the alchemist and sat down on a chair beside him. They had put the box down on the table and then asked,

"What are you working on?"

"Just an experiment. Found an old book that explained how a flower that could only grow from alchemy had many useful properties such as healing. On my part, what might you be doing here, bringing me what's considered to be the job of another person."

"Oh, I was just in my break and I happened to be walking by, so Jean asked me bring me this to you."

He gave them a skeptical look and asked,

"Does she know about us...?"

Him and Y/n have been going out together for a while already. It wasn't something completely official, so the both of them had decided to keep it for themselves until they think it's right to tell others. Their relationship was build from trust and for the loneliness they each compensate for each other. Y/n confessed first as they were the ones who had caught feelings for the alchemist. While on his part, he had taken a liking to the knight so

he kinda just accepted the confession. With time, his feelings for them had grown and even if he wasn't used to feel like that, Albedo still tried his best in this relationship.

They gave him a small genuine smile and answered,

"Hm, I doubt it."

Both of them had each their own qualities and flaws, but in both ways they could accept each other. Even if obvious secrets could be seen hidden in each, they'd rather wait for the other to tell them so to bot force the other.

"Anyways, one day they'll know, it's just a matter of time before that, "Albedo told his partner.

"Guess you're not wrong," after saying that, they took a small moment to look around them. The laboratory was a mess, but a comfortable one that is. You could see books piled up together here and there, some with just on the table, open and forgotten. The table was more like a counter pushed back against the quite large window. Through it, we could the outside of Mondstad and at this time of the day, warm sunlight would illuminate the surroundings. Albedo looked incredibly pretty in this scenery and very fitting, he was looking to his side making half of his face touched by the sunlight. The few alchemy related objects would sit around him with hi notes right in front of him, showing his alchemist side. A truly peaceful sight to see, compared to Dragonspine, which radiated danger and mystery. "Either way, what is in this package?"
