Tadashi, with his little brother hoisted on his shoulders, was going out today. Not just for no reason, of course- but for a very special occasion. Since Tadashi had been proven to be smarter than many of his class mates in 5th grade, and he showed many signs of advanced intelligence, especially when it came to robotics and inventing. At only 11 years old, Tadashi would be able to go to the University he will hopefully one day go to- SFIT. Since the University was so close to where they lived, Aunt Cass had told them it was alright to go alone, as long as Tadashi kept a close eye on Hiro, since he had a tendency of wanting to run off, or getting curious about almost everything. After all, he was only 7. A 7 year old genius that is, so they don't really expect anything less from a small child with a constantly running imagination. "Alright, Hiro! Here It is! Oh man, I can't WAIT to meet Professor Callahan and all the other professors! Maybe one day, you'll be able to go here too, Hiro!" Hiro stuck his tongue out at the building, and shook his head violently. "No! I don't wanna go to school! I hate it!" Tadashi laughed. Although Hiro found all work he got from school pretty easy, he still always said it was a "waste of time learning things he already knew." Hiro was just like that, stubborn and independent. "Alright Hiro, hop down." Tadashi said, crouching down so Hiro could jump off his shoulders. Hiro grasped his older brother's hand, and followed him to wherever he was going. Although the he hated school, he was very impressed and in awe at the huge building full of machinery and inventions. "Oooooh... It's like a big nerd school!" Hiro exclaimed, and Tadashi laughed. He was nervous, but Hiro being here made him feel a little better, even if it was just a little bit. "Alright, there they are..." Tadashi whispered to Hiro, who smiled up at his assuringly and gave him a thumbs up. Tadashi looked over at the 4 professors standing over some sort of machine- some sort of computer technology, he guessed. Finally, the small 11 year old walked up to the four professors, and cleared his throat. "Um... Ex- excuse me, sirs?" His timid voice was far from getting there attention, so Hiro decided he'd help him out a bit. "HEY! MY BROTHER WANTS TO SEE YOU!" His tiny, but loud voice screeched through the building, getting half of the people's attention throughout the university. Including, the professors. "Ah! Thank you, young man, for getting our attention." Hiro and Tadashi both smiled up at him, but the man didn't seem to be interested in smiling back. Tadashi and Hiro exchanged glances, and looked back at him. "Um... I'm Tadashi Hamada, and I.. I know I'm little and all, but I think I have what it takes to be here someday when I'm older. So, I- I came with this-" He held up a cleaning bot that he had built- "In he hopes that you'd... Train me, or.. Teach me what you know...?" Tadashi smiled sheepishly, but Hiro stayed in place beside his brother, his little nose scrunched up in response to the man's hateful frown. "Hm. Let me see that." He grabbed it out of Tadashi's hands, and Examined it closely. "Oh, uh, yeah! Sure." The man didn't look impressed to say the least, and the other professors were laughing and pointed at the bot behind him. Tadashi felt like dying, but he didn't say a word. Neither did Hiro, who had his little hand grasped in Tadashi's. "This thing is all you've got? The craftsman ship is incredibly poor. The bolts are all too loose- how do you expect me to teach someone who can't even build a simple structure like this?" He said coldly, staring at Tadashi with grey, harsh eyes. Tadashi felt tears prick at his eyes. "S-sorry I wasted your time." He said, only slightly above a whisper, and took back his bot. He started to walk away, wiping away tears on his cheeks. Until he realized his little brother wasn't following him. "Come on, Hiro. We're wasting his time." He spat, but it came out as just a sad whisper.
Hiro starred at his crying brother. The one that worked so hard on his invention- spent MONTHS on it even- the brother who wanted nothing more in the world to be able to get to this school. The one who wanted what was best for his talent.

"No, Dashi. This is so unfair."

He told him, his tiny voice breaking a little bit, from his own sadness. He hated seeing his brother this way. What were those mean people thinking? He only wanted a chance, and they threw him in the dirt. Tadashi stopped in his tracks, but didn't turn around. Instead, his head dropped, and more tears leaked out. He knew that was true. But he was only 11. He couldn't tell off a bunch of grown men. Especially ones he once looked up to so much.

"After all you have done... You really deserve better.."

A small voice sang, with such perfection and angelic sound, Tadashi was almost certain it couldn't have been his little brother. But when he turned around, he realized it HAD been him, and he was completely at loss of words. What was he doing?

"Nothing makes sense in this world..."

His beautiful voice rang out once again, leaving a lot of people in the room watching him in awe. Even the professors were looking slightly impressed, but were trying to hide it.

"It's all a big pile of crazy..."

His waved his tiny hands by his sides, and he suddenly had a flash of anger on his face.

"And the Kings are alllll fooooools..."

Tadashi knew he was talking about the Professors, and almost wanted to laugh. He heard one of the professors grunt in response, and he could tell he was angry.

"Where is the honor,
When a solemn promise is just a pretty lie?"

His voice became louder, and the vibrato in his voice was so beautiful it made Tadashi want to cry. He had no idea his little Brother had such a voice. Hiro suddenly turned away from his brother to face the professors.

"And the mighty mock the courage of the humble!
Although he's just an ordinary child..."

Tadashi knew exactly what he was talking (or singing) about. He was telling them that they saw him as just an ordinary kid, they didn't see anything special in him: but they were wrong.

"My brother taught me! you don't need to be colossal! To be a great heart!"

Tadashi smiled and felt happy tears fill his eyes. Did Hiro really look up to him that much? Hiro had basically just said that his brother had taught him that you don't need to be big and powerful looking to have a beautiful and great soul- to be a great person. Tadashi knew he did teach him that. He HAD to. They didn't have parents to tell them this. He was the only father figure he had left.

"You don't need to flyyyyyyyyyyyy!
To be awesome!"

Tadashi once again felt like laughing at this. He remembered. He remembered when Hiro had gotten upset because he had spent almost an entire year trying to invent ways for people to fly. He was obsessed with it. And one day, Hiro was sobbing, because he felt so worthless for nothing being able to invent what he had tried so hard on. Tadashi had comforter him, and had told him that he wasn't stupid for not being Able to invent something. He had told him that no matter what, he was his awesome little brother.

"My hero..... My brother."

Tadashi smiled widely. Hiro thought of him as his hero. He wanted to laugh at the play on words.
Hiro turned his head away from the shocked professors, too look over at Tadashi. He turned his little body around, and ran right into to him, and hugged him tightly. Tadashi felt tears in his eyes. "I love you, Dashi. You'll always be a great inventor to me." Tadashi smiled, and the first thing he heard since Hiro's act was-

"Perhaps we could make an exception."
