I stuck my head out of the back window, the wind sending my blonde hair flying every which way. I turned my head, and even through my hair, I could see the police cars and flashing lights. I smirked.

I brought my head back inside the car and looked at Skylar, who was driving, and Trevor, who was sitting shotgun. "Typical night, huh?" I asked. Trevor turned to face me and grinned. "You know it." Skylar added in, "Same old, same old."

We had just robbed a bank, and I gazed down at the money bags on the floor and next to me. "Trevor, pass me a gun?" I asked. He leaned down and picked up a rifle, then handed it back to me. "Thanks." I leaned out the window, gun in my hands, and fired.

A police car window was hit, and the glass flew. It didn't hit the officer inside, but I managed to barely hear him say, "...Backup. In pursuit of bank thieves." I aimed lower and locked on a front tire. I pulled the trigger and the recoil caused me to hit my head on the side of the car window frame.

I tossed the gun back in the car and rubbed my head, watching as the cop car's tire pop and swerve to the left, landing off the road and running into trees and bushes. One down, four plus to go. I quickly leaned back inside the car.

"Speed up, Skylar! They're calling for more backup!" I shouted over the roaring sirens. "Crap, seriously?!" Skylar yelled. He pushed his foot all the way down on the pedal. We sped forward and I clutched the fabric of the seats, panic and fear rushing over my body. My eyes went wide.

Oh, god, I thought. Don't have a panic attack right now, Elle! I took several deep breaths, but my chest still felt compressed, like someone was sitting on me. The fear and dread rose higher as I felt like I could suffocate.

Trevor was also holding on to the seats, but when he noticed my state, he reached and arm back and placed it on my shoulder. "Calm down, Elle. We're going to be fine." He assured me. I relaxed a little. Skylar quickly looked back at me, then past me, and his eyes went wide.

"Elle, I'm sorry that you're not feeling well, but we have to go faster. The cops are gaining on us." He said. I quickly nodded. "It's fine, it's fine. Faster!" I called. We went even faster than before, but my dread and fear turned into exhilaration, like I was on a roller coaster for the first time.

I relaxed in my seat. Through the darkness, our car went faster. Skylar made a sharp left off of the highway, and we continued on. The cops followed. Other cars quickly tried to get out of the way, but one driver was unlucky.

We plowed straight into a red jeep, sending me lurching forward and hitting my face on the back of Skylar's seat. Our car flew off the road and towards a ton of trees and bushes. My head throbbed as I leaned back in my seat again. Skylar had barely flinched, and Trevor was holding his nose. We both looked at each other.

"Are you okay?" We asked in unison. Trevor and I shared a grin. I noticed the cops had gotten out of their cars to help some pedestrians. They had this stupid "citizen safety first" rule. "The engine's busted; the car won't move." Skylar said.

"The cops aren't looking. Grab the money bags and stuff them in some bushes, we can hide!" I told them. We started to grab as much money as we could and shoved them in some nearby big bushes. The cops were coming towards our car. Skylar leaped into a bush and Trevor and I squeezed into another big bush.

"...where are they? They couldn't have just disappeared! Check the car!" A police man yelled. I shifted a little, careful not to make too much noise. I stared at Trevor. His dark blue eyes were focused on the cops just nearby us, and the breeze ruffled his brown hair.

He turned towards me, looking me straight in my green eyes. "What?" He whispered. "Nothing," I whispered back, turning away. I felt like someone lit fire to my face. The cops continued to search around.

"Get a tow truck to take their car away. It's evidence. They're still on the run." A cop spoke into his radio.

We'd been cramped in this bush for a good hour, and it was mind numbing boredom. The last cop car was about to pull away, when Trevor picked up his gun. "Seriously?" I asked. "Yep. Gotta have some fun, right?" He responded. I smirked. "Go ahead."

His lifted his gun outside of the bush a bit, and fired at the car's open window. It hit the cop in the neck, and he let out a choked gasp as maroon streamed down the side of his uniform.

We all leapt out of the bushes. "They'll be coming back soon. We have to continue on foot." Skylar said. "Yeah." I agreed. We gathered as much of the money as we could, and sprinted, sticking close to the shadows. We were heading to our penthouse.

•••

Cops cars were still roaming. They'd found the dead officer, no doubt. Once we'd reached our penthouse, I punched in the pass code that activated the locked door. I'd had it installed a while back, as extra protection. "Two, two, one, three..." I muttered as I punched the code in.

The door opened and we all stepped inside. I tossed the money bags I was holding onto the couch, then turned back to the door and locked all six locks. Trevor closed the blinds and Skylar turned the lights on. I flopped onto the couch opposite the one the money was on.

"Ahh... Like I said, typical night." I told them. Roxy popped in the room. "Hey! Back already?" She joked. "So, how did it-" she glanced down at the bags of money. "Oh. Nevermind." She said, her eyes lighting up.

Roxy is our heist "manager" I guess. She sets us up with new things to do. Her black hair was pulled back into a messy bun, and she had bags under her green eyes. It was one AM, after all. "We sat in a bush for over an hour." I told her.

"This is why I'm glad I'm the manager. I stay here and give you things to do." She said. "Yeah, yeah, we know." Trevor joked. "We do allll the work for you, Roxy." Skylar said sarcastically. Roxy laughed. "I rented a movie to watch. Sit down!" She told us.

I sat up and Trevor sat to my right. Skylar sat next to him. Roxy turned the TV on and slid the disc into the player. She pressed play and took a seat on my left. We were watching "The Dark Night Rises".

About thirty minutes into the movie, my eyelids were drooping closed. I rested my head on the back of the couch, but it rolled onto Trevor's shoulder. I was too lazy to move. He draped an arm around my shoulders. I felt myself heat up at the gesture, but didn't mind too much.

I soon drifted off to sleep, the fighting sounds from the movie playing the background.

NOTE: The Trevor is this Fanfiction IS NOT the Trevor in GTA. They're two different people.
