MY POV.

(Forgive my mistakes.)

I looked at Ty and Ty looked at me. He looked like he didn't care but then he did at the same time.

I moved my black ass into the living room and opened the door. There stood two policemen. One was pretty attractive and the other was just... yeah.

"Can we step in?" The attractive one asked.

At first, I was hesitant to say no but I have the right to not let anyone in unless they have a warrant.

"No, we can talk right here; yal behind the door. You know, not inside my house," I said.

"Understandable." The busted one shook his head awkwardly.

"Yeah." I shook my head right along with him.

"Ma'am, are you aware that there was a shooting in the area? Witnesses say they saw you run inside this complex after," The attractive officer asked.

I told them the half-truth. "Yes, I'm aware that there was a shooting. I was hiding in the car when I heard the shots and got out when I saw nobody out there."

"So, you saw nobody?"

"If I did, I would've told you guys," I lied.

"Mk," the ugly one wrote on a notepad,"Do you know anyone you think could've been involved?"

"No, there's not any violence in this neighborhood so I can't really think of anyone out of this neighborhood. "

"Okay, well if you have any suspicions or anything don't be scared to speak up," The attractive one said as he handed me a card.

"Okay, thank you," I told them before shutting the door. I went back in the room which got Ty's attention.

" Ty," I said. "I heard everything, Ni."

"Imma go, um, pack my stuff. Okay?"

"Why?" Ty asked.

"Because I wanna stay with Tani for a couple of days," I said.

"Ight, lemme get my shit too, then."

We packed our clothes and essentials. I waited for Ty to change his outfit just in case someone saw him. Once he was finished with that, we put our stuff in his car (since that's where the most of his DNA is), adjusted the mirrors and shit so he could drive. He started to drive towards Trey's house.

I called Tani to make sure she was at Treys place and if she wasn't then she could give me the address to her house.

"Hello?" Tani slurred.

"So, me and Ty got involved with something and we kind of need to stay at your place for some days," I said.

"What??" She asked.

"V stop!" Trey yelled in the background, "You drunk as fuck!"

"You know what? Never mind," I mumbled, "You're too drunk to understand." I hung up on her and instead called Meris since I'd probably be dealing with a bunch of drunk ass people.

About 3 rings later, Meris finally picked up.

"Hey, Lani. What's up?"

"Hey. I have a very important question for you."

"Yes?" Meris asked sounding concerned.

"Can me and Ty stay with you for somedays, I'll explain everything when we get there if we can."

"Yeah, you can stay over. I'll give you my address just in case you don't have it."

She sent me the address, I told Ty and he changed our route.

We live 1 hour and 15 minutes away from her and Kahlil, an hour from Trey & Vallariee, and Tani is keeping secrets about her locations.

I looked at Ty as he was driving. He was looking so fine, like I wanted to fuck him all over again. But at the same I didn't. He was just looking good I kind of want to suck his dick.

"Lani," He called my name, causing me to snap back to reality.

"Hm?" I answered him.

"You good, mama? I called yo name like 5 times."

"Yeah I'm-" I stopped myself from talking once he turned his head towards me and we connected eyes, "I'm good."

He was looking so good and it's not like it's his first time driving me somewhere because it's not but maybe I'm just being horny for no reason.

"You sure? You ain't having anxiety or nothing?"

"Nope."

Just admiring your sexy ass.

I connected my phone to the car and played some music. And because I did start to get a little anxious, I fell asleep.

I woke up to Ty lightly backhanding my shoulders.

After I realized we made it to Meris' house, the first thing I wanted to do was give Ty a kiss. And we did just that before he fully got out the car, took all our stuff out and took it to the porch. While he was doing all that, I got out the car and started to stretch.

"Okay Mrs. Emerissa and Mr. Kahlil. I see the crib looking all nice and what not," I thought out loud while studying the exterior of their home.

Ty was being welcomed in by Meris and Kahlil and eventually I came in the picture.

They lived in a nice little 3-bedroom house with 3.5 bathrooms. The guest bedrooms were nice and all but the master bed was the nicest. The kitchen was glamourous. Altogether, everything just looked and probably was expensive.

"So, what happened?" Meris asked after we got settled in.

I explained everything and of course she threw little shade in towards Ty and even me but I couldn't blame her.

Not long after that conversation, she asked about the engagement ring. I showed her and I could see how happy she was for me.

Ty and Kahlil were in the loft upstairs, assuming they're playing video games, me and Emerissa continued to converse... well until somebody came up unannounced. Or so I thought.
