Daniel x Mark a friends to lovers story

part one: the tension

*Bells rings* I heard the bell ring at lunch *sigh* PE again.... I had to see him, I know we're just friends but I think of him as more. I went to the locker room dreading having seeing to him but there he was "Hey Mark!" there was that sweet voice of his, like music to my ears. I waved back smiling at him, I came into the gym and sat down in my spot... right next to him. The coach began talking "Okay class, today we'll be doing partner exercises. I will be assigning partners" I became anxious what if i get him? What will i say? It sounds stupid but I become so nervous I just dont wanna mess up around him. The coach began again "I'll start with you two! Mark and Daniel you'll be partners." I gulped out of anxiety, fear running through my veins. The coach told everyone else their partners and explained what we were doing, simple. It was just passing the ball, "Hey are you okay?" said Daniel I replied back saying "y-yeah why do you ask?" He laughed and said "you look kinda out of it" thats when my eyes met with his eyes, I blushed. We began throwing the ball back and forth until I dropped the ball but as Daniel went to get it and so did I, our hands met touching each other. I jumped back saying "s-sorry.." He laughed "Oh no you're fine" That's when the whistle was finally blown as the coach yelled "come on kids!" I quickly got dressed in the locker room as the bell finally rung, I went my next class still thinking about him, his face, his everything was just so beautiful.
*After school*

I watched a movie to pass time when my phone buzzed, it was Daniel I blushed then read the message "Hey, do you know about our project thats due friday" Crap. I completely forgot Mrs Jones ELA project on Shakespeare I texted back, "Hey sorry I completely forgot I'll try to help more in class tomorrow even with football practice" He quickly responded "You're fine I totally forgot too and I'll see at football practice anyways." I responded with my face bright red "Well I've gotta go to bed goodnight Daniel" "Goodnight Mark"

*At school again*

I sat down in the cafeteria waiting for bell to ring until Daniel came and sat down next to me "Hey mark how's it going?" I blushed again "o-oh hey Daniel I'm good how about y-you?" He smiled and said "doing pretty good" Thats when bell rung I ran to my class only to see Daniel again, crap. I have to do the project with him, I sat down next him fidgeting with my fingers, I couldn't dare look at him, he couldn't know how I truly felt about him. It'd ruin my reputation, two popular football players dating? It would never happen. Daniel sat down with a laptop and began typing away. "It says here that...." I zoned out gazing at his beauty. We talked about for awhile until he said "Hey since we're not done and its due soon, do you wanna come over do it at my house?" I blushed out of shock and said "Y-yeah that would be nice." Thats well the bell rung. The whole day I thought me and him.
*After school at Daniel's house*

I sat down on his bed as he opened his laptop but all i could stare at was him. We began the project when I touch his hand and he touched mine, of course it was on accident but I noticed he blushed too, I thought to myself maybe he was just embarrassed.

*Back at Mark's house*

I layed in bed thinking about what happened, till I look at the time "shoot, I need to get to football practice" I hopped up and began getting dressed and picked up my bag

*At football practice*

I saw Daniel and all the other teamates look over at me but the only difference was Daniel was smiling, I thought I was just overthinking it. That's when the coach yelled "Time for warm ups! Get in a line!" We all ran over in a line "Today we'll be doing only 2 laps, now go!" I sighed and began running just as everyone else did. I ran right in front of Daniel as the whole team ran. Boom. Two laps, we all ran back into a line as the coach yelled "alright, good job, now we'll do push ups next." One of our teammates raised his hand "how many sir?" the coach yelled back "25! Now start!" We all began doing pushups as everyone loudly counted out how many 23!.. 24!.. 25!." As everyone stopped me and Daniel made eye contact, I looked away as I couldn't tell if he could see me blushing. The coach yelled again "All right now everyone get in position!" We all ran to be in position as the minutes flew by. After two hours of heavy practicing we all began to go home as I was walking to the entrance I heard a voice "Wait! Mark! Hold up!" It was Daniel, I blushed and began slowing down. He ran up to me saying "Hey, you did really good out there, great job" I thanked him as he began walking beside me until we both got into our cars, waving goodbye at each other.

*The next day at school..*

I threw away my lunch tray as the bell rung. Sigh... PE again. I ran into the locker room, got dressed and sat down in my spot as Daniel smiled at me. He said to me "Hey uh Mark, do you wanna do the project at my house again yk since its due tomorrow" I smiled and said "yeah, of course." The coach non stopped talked until the bell rang. I ran out god undressed and dressed again and went to my last class for the day.
