"How long has it been?", she approached until she was a good six feet away.

That's the façade she built to avoid pain.
To avoid attachment.
To avoid a heart wrenching loss.
Because in reality, she's just a lonely child that needs friends.
She's been lonely for far too long.
She found company from a strict man who brought a nameless entity in his home when he was still a salaryman.
But when she heard Gojo talk that day.
That façade shattered.
She didn't curse him, she just mourned.
She was too busy mourning to curse him.
Painful enough that it reached her brother, making him arrive urgently to comfort her. This was the first time he had to do this. It took her brother and Yuuji comforting her to finally stop crying but even then, she would cry again trying to remember him.
She loved Nanami.
But she respected his decision to not have a lover, not like he knows she loves him anyways. She understood the dangers of their work.
She as an extraterrestrial immortal, and he as a mortal. They just weren't meant to be.
That day, when she returned to their shared home, the silence was deafening, a reminder the person who lived here, isn't coming back.
She had to call Yuuji that night just to hear something in those four walls. To bear the truth brought by a quiet home.
Walking around the house without that warm voice to talk to her was the final straw.
He really is gone.
There's nowhere to go but forward.
When her mission was done, and she was asked to report back, all she asked Gojo and Yuuji was to remember her.
