It was Eden who exited the funhouse first. Ninety-three years she spent alone in the deserted paradise she named after herself, and on her final day of life, the funhouse reappeared. Not to take her back to her universe but to spit out Adam, Lilith, and Eve.
As she lay dying, her friends confused and frightened faces were the place thing she saw. Eden didn't have the strength to speak. She couldn't soothe their fears or offer them hope. Tell them her story of these lonely years while she waited for someone to come.
But as she drew her place, Eden hoped the land she had named after herself would be the paradise it was for her, offering them what she couldn't.
