Chapter 17

After a break was called so that the spectators could visit the bathrooms and get food I slipped away from the rest of the guild. It didn't take me long to meet up with Jellal, Meredy and Ultear in one of the gardens.
"Have you figured anything out yet?" I asked them and they shook their heads.
"We have been looking everywhere but we haven't been able to get any information about why the Princess would want to kidnap you" Ultear sighed.
"We don't think it has anything to do with your power or beauty," Meredy grinned, making me smile a little.
"From the tiny bits we have been able to piece together they are after your celestial keys....Do you think it has anything to do with the warning that you received?" Jellal asked and I thought about it. The warning that I had received didn't have a time, date or even the year of the event but this couldn't be a coincidence.
"I know it is a lot to ask but would you keep an eye on the Sabertooth guild as well as one of the knights. His name is Arcadios and my guess is that he is the one behind this" I requested.
"You think the warning is coming true" Ultear stated.
"Yes and if that is the truth then this city is about to be sucked into hell so we need to get ready for it. I will begin to get everything ready with Angel, Cobra, Midnight and Racer. I'll ask Richard to help you out if you don't mind" I said.
"We'll take all the help we can get, but Lucy if this is what we were warned about shouldn't we tell Master Makarov and the rest of the guild?" Meredy enquired.
"......No, for now we keep this to ourselves. They only just got back and they are enjoying putting their strengths against the other guilds. I don't want to worry them with this news" I decided.
"You mean that you will take it all onto your shoulders right?" Jellal stated rather than questioned.
"You know that doing that isn't good, you remember last time you did that" Ultear whispered as she stepped forward and gently placed her hand over the scar that ran over my closed eye.
"I remember but I'm stronger, wiser and older than I was back then. I won't make the same mistake twice. I'm going to tell Fairy tail when the time is right but for now I just want them to enjoy their time here" I forced a smile so that they couldn't worry.
"Okay but at the first sign that something is wrong we will tell them everything" Meredy warned and I nodded. Nothing I said would stop them from telling Fairy tail if something happened.
"The matches are about to start, you should get back. And Lucy" Jellal called as I started to walk away making me turn to him. I wasn't expecting him to gently caress my cheek while kissing my lips.
"Call us the moment you need help" He said and I nodded with a blush. With that I turned and walked back to the arena ready to watch the matches for the day.

"Let's do away with the pleasantries and shake up the scoreboard with some one on one battle," Chapati Lola said.
"Looking forward to it should be exciting," Yajima smiled.
"Indeed," Lahar agreed.
"First up the kitten with major claws, Mermaid Heel's Millianna against Quatro Puppy's towering giant Samus," Chapati Lola announced and I looked at the two fighters. Samus attacked first with his spinning attack and unfortunately Millanna's rope magic bounced right off. This continued with Samus deflecting all of the attacks while attacking Millanna. She didn't give up though and managed to restrain Samus. While she was sitting on Samus's back she glared up at me and I met it head on. She and Kagura were free to hate me all they wanted, they were free to hate Jellal all they wanted but I wasn't about to allow them to hurt him. They knew if they wanted to get to him they had to go through me and I wasn't about to lose against them. Feeling two sets of arms around me I looked up at Erza and Gray.
"I don't like the way that she is glaring at you," Gray glared.
"Does she truly think that I would allow you to be hurt?" Erza demanded with a glare of her own.
"It's fine you two, let's just calm down" I smiled and they huffed but nodded.
"Lucy, I was wondering" Wendy spoke up and I looked at her with a smile.
"What is it? You don't have to hold back, ask anything that you want" I said.
"Would I be able to plait your hair? It's so long now and I know that you normally have Cancer do your hair but-" Wendy started but I cut her off as I patted her head.
"I don't mind if you want to plait my hair," I said before Virgo appeared.
"Here you are Princess, I have the perfect chair for you" Virgo said as she placed a large golden chair that looked more like a throne than a chair. She also placed a stool behind it for Wendy and passed her a brush while holding onto a few hair bands.
"I shall assist you" Virgo declared and Wendy nodded before getting to work.
