Abuja, Nigeria. The warm Abuja morning filtered through the curtains, casting a gentle glow on Jalilah and Jalal. She lay stretched out across his lap, playfully demanding answers. "Booboobear! What's the occasion? You've been smiling since morning...please tell me the reason," she whined, nudging his leg as she stomped her feet.
Jalal chuckled, watching her antics with soft amusement. "So, I can't smile anymore without a reason? I'm smiling because I'm with you, Jewel." He blew her a kiss, and she playfully "caught" it, then leaned forward to smack it onto his neck.
"Ouch...you're becoming violent, Jewel. Poor me," he laughed, feigning pain.
She raised an eyebrow, eyeing him mischievously. "As if you even feel my little smacks with that rock-solid physique of yours."
"Mean, mean Jewel," he sighed.
"Well, maybe you deserve it," she teased. "Oh, and don't think I've forgotten our driving lessons, darling. You promised." With a playful spark in her eyes, she sat up on his lap and pressed their foreheads together, her gaze daring him to refuse.
Jalal let out a dramatic sigh. "With the way you're bullying me, I don't think those lessons will happen anytime soon, wifey." He leaned closer, his gaze dropping to her lips, just as she pushed him away with a laugh.
"Fine then," she teased, "no driving lessons, no fun moments. Tit for tat." She flashed a victorious smirk.
He feigned shock. "What? No way! You can't do that, Jewel. You know I can't live a second without you."
"Then do as I say," she commanded, eyebrow arched in a challenge.
He threw his hands up in surrender. "Okay then, your wish is my command, after all, Jewel. But first, come with me. I have something to show you." Scooping her into his arms, he swept her off her feet, earning delighted laughter from her.
"Pervert," she giggled, as he carried her towards the bedroom door.
He smirked. "Can you blame me when I have someone like you, Jewel?" And with that, he closed the door behind them.

Later that day, Jalal casually draped his arm around her shoulder as she sat engrossed in her laptop, her eyes glued to a movie.
"Sup, wifey," he murmured.
Without looking away from the screen, she gave him a side glance. "Yes? And no, I'm not coming with you to show me anything, you pervert!" she said, feigning irritation.
Jalal burst into laughter. "Ouch! My own wife calling me a pervert over what's already mine," he teased, only to earn another playful smack from her.
"Actually," he said, straightening up, "we're going out."
Her face lit up. "Really? I love that idea! Where are we going?"
"The house," he deadpanned.
"Yippee! Let me get ready," she squealed, rushing off to her closet. Watching her, Jalal couldn't help but smile, knowing she had no clue what surprise he had prepared. He was certain it would blow her mind.
---
They arrived at the family house twenty-five minutes later, hand in hand, ignoring the curious glances from onlookers. Jalilah spotted her father and let out a delighted shriek.
"Daddy!" she cried, running to him and wrapping him in a big hug.
With a grin, she declared, "You're the only person I missed in this house."
