Biography on South African Cricketer David Miller

David Andrew Miller, I guess not many of you have heard about him.But he is a young & talented South African Cricketer.He is a left handed batsmen and was born in Pietermaritzburg,Natal Province,South Africa on 10th June,1989.

From his childhood he loved playing Cricket,his father who was a clublevel Cricketer encouraged him to take cricket as his profession.When he was a small kid his father threw a ball at him and he hit it,at that time his father told his mother that when his son will grow up he's definitely going to play for his country. His father played an important role in his career.

He Studied from Maritzburg College in Kwazulu-Natal,where former South African Cricketer Jhonty Rhodes also Studied.He used to play cricket at School & College.He played for South Africa A side. He also played county cricket from Durham & Yorkshire.In the Indian Premiere League (IPL) he plays for the Kings XI Punjab.

He made his T20 debut for South Africa on 20th May,2010 against the West Indies,Two days later he made his ODI Debut on 22nd May,2010 against the West Indies.He played really well and remained not out on 23 which helped in the victory of South Africa by 1 run. On 15th October,2010 he scored his maiden ODI fifty.

In 2011,he was named in South Africa's 30 man preliminary squad for the Cricket World Cup 2011,But he was not selected in the 15 man squad.That time came as a shock for him.At that time his father told him that this is just the beginning of his career.David Miller is a regular player in the ODI's for South Africa.

His life changing moment came on 6th May,2013 in the IPL against the Royal Challengers Bangalore,where he scored the 3rd fastest IPL hundred 101* off 38 balls at Mohali. He was nicknamed as 'Killer Miller' by all his fans.Although that year KXIP didn't reach the semis but David Miller was the highest run scorer for them.After his innings,in the post match interview Virat Kohli the Opposition Captain said,"It was one of the best innings,I've ever witnessed". Upon asking David Miller how did he managed to hit those beautiful sixes he said,"My dad used to tell me,'If its in the 'V',Its in the 'Trees' & If its in the 'Arc',Its 'Out of the Park'.

That year he was selected to play for his country in the Champions Trophy.In 2014 he was retained by the Kings XI Punjab along with Manan Vohra ahead of the IPL player Auction 2014. He proved why was he retained by the team,By playing some good quality cricket along with fellow teammate & Australian batsmen Glenn Maxwell.During the season he scored the 2nd fastest IPL fifty 51 off 19 balls against the Rajasthan Royals.He was at full force during the tournament.

On 9th May,2014 David Miller hit 66 runs off just 29 balls.He smashed 3 sixes & 8 fours. And one of the sixes he hit off Harshal Patel was the highest six of the tournament (102 metres). On the same day,David Miller became an uncle to his beautiful niece "Grace Rebecca Olivier".During the match his father tweeted,"Your beautiful niece was born in the middle of your flurry of sixes David.Grace Rebecca 3.8 kgs #LovelyBirthdayGift #Uncle ".

During this tournament there was a competition held,where David Miller won the Yes bank Super Sixes Challenge award -103 metres. That year KXIP reached the final but lost to KKR.It was a brilliant season for for them & for David Miller.

On 7th January,2015 It was the best day of his life & a dream come true moment for him,when he was selected to play for his country in the Cricket World Cup 2015.His biggest moment of his career came when he scored his Maiden ODI Century, 130 runs off 133 balls against the West Indies at Port Elizabeth.From that day Miller has been consistent in his performance.

He made his World Cup debut against Zimbabwe on 15th February,2015 where he scored his 2nd ODI Century,becoming the 2nd South African to score a century on World Cup Debut. Throughout the tournament,he played well.In the Semi-Final match against New Zealand he missed out on a well deserved Half-Century,but scored 49 runs off just 18 balls smashing 6 fours & 3 sixes.He was batting at a strike rate of 272. Although South Africa lost the game,but they fought till the last ball and played phenominally.They won millions of heart and left the tournament like champions.

By going through the above mentioned records,you can definitely say that he has been consistently improving throughout the years.He has been really working hard for whatever he has achieved till now. He plays T20 & ODI's for South Africa.But its his dream to play Test Cricket for his country & for which he's really working hard.
Above all we can say that,"Out of all the Hardwork & Efforts that his father put behind him in the initial stage of his career,DAVID MILLER is certainly a true return on investment".

He is definitely the Bright Future of South African Cricket.
