Kai sat on the edge of his bed, holding his head inbetween his hands. Nya was his sister, they didn't get along all the time, but they still cared deeply for each other.
Now she's gone. Became one with the sea, literally. Jay and Kai were hit the worst. Nya was a friend, a sister, and a yang. Each one chose a different way to cope. And Kai's way is to lock himself away.
He gripped his knees to his chest. He dried his tears on his gi and gasped for air. His chest felt heavy and his throat was sore.
"I was so stupid, I should of known"
Even when Nya was right in front of him, saying goodbye. He stood like a deer in headlights. He could only feel like he was a little bit at fault.
The times he actually does go outside he just stares out at the horizon. Having a small hope Nya would come back.
There was a sudden knock on Kai's wall. Cole's voice came from the other side, hoarse and weak, "Hey Kai, do you have any bandages..?"
Kai wiped away his tears, "Why do you need bandages..?"
"I hurt myself while climbing."
There was a pause until Kai sighed, "Wait there..."
He dragged himself out of bed, grabbed a roll of bandages and rubbing alcohol out of his drawer. He kept his head at the floor as he pushed his door open, "Take them."
"Thanks... Do you-... Maybe want to-"
"Cole I'm-... Not in the mood to go anywhere..."
"Do you want to talk about it...?"
Kai stopped dead in his tracks, "No I don't."
Cole nodded, "Just yell for me if ya' need me." He waltzed back into his own sleeping quarters as Kai shut his door.
He slunk back into his bed and rolled himself in the sheets. He listened to his own heartbeat, slow and tired. He could sleep for days on end if he wanted to. He was tired. Tired from crying almost everyday, tired from constantly thinking about his sister, and especially tired from pushing away his friends. They were just trying to help.
He should really apologize.
Kai tried to move himself outta bed but couldn't bring himself to move a muscle.
Tomorrow then.
