T'Challa decided that a big social event would be good for us considering how long its been since we've seen most of our friends.

Sadly, the twins and Clint couldn't come. According to T'Challa, they're off enjoying the world. And, Thor hasn't even been on the planet for... awhile.

But, I'm grateful that he gave the effort to put all of this together.

-------------------

It's been so long since I've been invited to an event like the one I'm going to in a half hour.

T'Challa invited all of the Avengers, the Wakandan royals, and their friends. There's a lot of people here, despite some being on the run from pretty much any other government.

Once I put on my dress, and my hair is done, there's a knock at my door.

"Come in,"

Bucky reveals himself from behind the wood.

"I– I um–" he gazes up and down at me, suddenly unable to form words.

"Buck," I say seeing the tie in his hand, "do you need help with something?"

"Oh yeah," he snaps out of his trance, "my tie."

I nod.

"It's been a really long time since I've worn a tie– I used to know how. I– I did it all the time actually, but I uh... Forgot." He struggles with an awkward grin.

"Come here," I wave him on, letting out a giggle.

My father taught me how to tie a tie. He had to wear one for work and so he let me practice on his.

I feel Bucky's gaze on my head. When I look up to face him, his admiring gaze makes me blush slightly.

"What?" I ask, questioning his look.

"Nothing," he mutters, "are you ready to go?"

"Yes,"

"Then, let's go." Bucky replies placing his hand out for me to take.

I let out a smile, placing my hand in his and making our way to the grand hall.

-------------------------------

"Steve!" I yell rushing into his arms.

I haven't seen my best friend in what feels like forever!

He chuckles and lifts me off of the ground like he does every time, and I could never get tired of it.

"I missed you so much," I squeal.

"I missed you too," he smiles, "how's everything been?"

"It's been good. Shuri and I've been making headway on a fix for Bucky's situation." I reply.

"How is he? And where is he?"

"He's doing better. I think he's realizing that he's  in control, but it's still scary for him."

Steve nods.

"He's over by the entrance. We both know that he's nervous around this many people." I mutter quietly, "Go. He'll want to see you."

I look over to see the two reuniting, again. Bucky's face lights up at the unexpected sight of his best friend.

They embrace each other longingly and talk right there. It's considerate to Bucky's lack of faith to leave the entrance.

-----------------------

I've been visiting with old friends since Steve left to talk to Bucky.

"Hello, I don't believe that we've officially met." A man states in a deep voice, "I'm M'Baku and you're Lilliana, right?"

"Yes, I am." I reply kindly, and a little confused.

"You're one of the Avengers that are staying with the King." He states.

"I'm mainly helping Shuri in the lab." I add.

"Hm, well it was nice meeting you."

We shake hands and visions flash before my eyes...

T'Challa looking lifeless and frozen in a box...
A man towering over dead bodies...
T'Challa beaten and bloody falling off of a cliff...
The chaos of a new Wakandan ruler...

When I return to reality, M'Baku is long gone and I'm alone.

My heart rate quickens at what I've just witnessed. I hold my chest at the pain of not being able to catch my breath.

My mind is racing with paranoia, anxiousness, and especially panic. I run my hands through my low bun, suddenly suffocating.

Nat is talking to me, but I can't comprehend.

"Bu– Am nevoie de Bucky" I stutter breathlessly.
(Translation: I need Bucky)

"Lil, I can't understand you." She rambles.

"Am nevoie de B–"

I hear clamering footsteps.

"Move, move!" I hear a familiar voice yell.

Bucky's worried face comes into view.

"Steve take her hair down!" He demands.

"Wha–"

"Do it, do it now!"

As my hair flows, I can get slight control back but not enough.

"nu pot– nu p–" I attempt with a sob.
(Translation: I can't–)

"Știu, știu. Stai asa,"
(Translation: I know, I know. Hold on,)

He manages to carry me with one arm.

"Grab a chair!"

Bucky takes me outside, and places me in a chair, in a quick like manner.

I can hear him tell everyone to wait inside, but my vision is starting to blur with stars.

"Hei, hei, stai cu mine." He grabs my hand, "spune-mi ceva ce poți vedea."
(Translation: Hey, hey, hey stay with me. Tell me something you can see.)

"Nu p-pot vedea n-nimic."
(Translation: I c-cant see a-anything.)

"Ok, ce poți auzi?" He questions.
(Translation: Ok, what can you hear?)

I think hard to focus on the noises and not my head.

"A-aud oam-menii v-vorbind."
(Translation: Um, I can hear the people talking.)

"Bun, ce altceva?"
(Translation: Good, what else?)

"Aud vântul." I stutter.
(Translation: I can hear the wind.)

"Și (and)?" He asks.

My vision returns and my heart rate slows.

"îți pot auzi vocea," I mutter with a grin.
(Translation: I can hear your voice,)

Bucky lets out a small laugh, "ești bine (you're okay)."

I couldn't tell, in that moment, if those words were for me or him.

He nods towards the others who, I assume are piled at the door, letting them know that I'm okay.

Bucky runs his fingers across my cheek as he places our foreheads together, double-checking that I'm okay, "what happened in there?"

"It was a vision... I haven't had one for a very long time." I reply, "... And I'm pretty sure that... T'Challa va fi ucis."
(Translation: T'Challa is going to be murdered.)

A final tear slips, and Bucky wipes it away.

"We're not going to let that happen."
