The man cleaned my wounds, and I whimpered slightly. The chatter outside grew to a screaming. I stood up, and putting on a shirt, walked outdoors. I was confronted with harsh sunlight, and I began to see what the screaming was about. "We can not execute children!" Yelled one half of the people, while the other half insisted we were murderers that needed to be shot. Taylor was laying on the ground, the only thing saving her from death, being the heavily armed citizens.
The soldiers pointed their guns toward the angry crowd. They had had enough, and were ready to quash the rebellion. I motioned to Taylor to crawl towards me. As the army opened fire on the pedestrians, Taylor, and another man ran towards me. We snuck through the spaces in between buildings, and we reached the ten foot tall fence. That separated us from the outside world. This fence also made it clear to me that we were in a quadrant. I heard constant gunfire behind us, as the people fought the army. "I'm Jerome. I knew Samuel." He said to Taylor. How he knew it was her, I am still unsure of today, but he was willing to lend a helping hand, hoisting both of us over the fence.
We made a quick getaway. Hearing the gunfire behind us fueled us to keep going. As the sound was no longer able to be heard, Taylor and I rested against a rock. Taylor told me that she was tired of running. I reassured her that we wouldn't have to run for too much longer. I didn't know what the plan was. Would we live a normal life? Would we separate? I believe that these thoughts went through Taylor's mind as well. I took a sip of water that the doctor had given me. "Damn." I said. "My back hurts like hell." Taylor was concerned that I had hurt my spine, but I was sure that I would be fine. I was wrong.
It's been a few months. I heard that the army lost the battle. This started a revolution. People all across each quadrant rose up against the military. We had started a revolution. Two kids had sent the world into anarchy. But I've seen and done enough killing. Taylor left today. She didn't want to be around me anymore. I don't know why. Maybe she was just manipulating me from the start, and I had served my purpose. All I know is, I can't be on the run forever. I have decided that the only way to end my story ... is to kill myself. Don't come out here. There's nothing but death. I hear there are parties of people, attempting to help people like me. I don't want it.
