XYRENE: The New Girl in Town

CH. 5: The Man Who Disappeared

Days have passed ever since that talk happened. Xyrene was not able to have another talk with Professor Lorenzo due to her busy schedules.

However, today was the day she was free from her studies. She quickly packs her things as the bell rang. "I need to go give my news article first. No need to wait for me!" She tells her group of friends and goes in the opposite direction that leads to the faculty.

She arrives and proceeds to knock on the dark maroon faculty door. Xyrene opens the door and does the usual greeting to some of the teachers.

Xyrene makes her way to her News Writing teacher's desk. "Afternoon po sir Reyes, here's my news article." She hands her worksheet to her professor. "Thank you so much Xyrene. Oh also, please inform the class that I'll be having a test about our lesson today." The professor gives her a small favor as he puts her article on top of a pile of papers.

"Sige po!" Xyrene smiles then looks behind to where Professor Lorenzo's desk is which is also beside Reyes' desk too.

"Mabuti naman wala na siya dito."

"Mhm! Now that he's gone, the students won't need to hear all of his mumbles and lies."

Two other professors pass by Xyrene. She quickly turns her head to where Professor Lorenzo's desk is. All of his thick heavy looking books, pile of papers, stationery supplies, and everything else he owns is gone.

Her eyes widen at the sight she saw and starts to wonder what happened to her professor.

"You may leave na, Ms. Rosario." Professor Reyes says, making Xyrene come back to her senses. She awkwardly bows then turns her back from him.

Before she can step another foot, she finds a yellow note on top of Lorenzo's desk. Xyrene quickly took it without anyone noticing her doing so. She quickly left the room and checks the handwritten note.

"Unit 127, Brgy Hagonoy, St. Fernandez."
