The man's scream turns silent as Itachi's Sharingan eyes drill into him. Now that the man is out and giving up information, a shudder rips through my body. Itachi's genjutsu doesn't require him to maintain eye contact, so his gaze flickers to me as I slide down the wall. "Are you alright?" Itachi asks. I nod, but I can't keep the mixture of disgust and horror from sliding across my face. My hand clamps over my mouth. He almost...
I close my eyes. With even breathing, I shut down my feelings of disgust. My eyes slide open and I am emotionless once again. "I'm fine." I say with determination. Itachi's face shows suggestions of concern, but he keeps elicting information out of idiot of an inn keeeper. When Itachi is done, he eyes the man with contempt.
"We'll bring him outside the Village to kill him. There's a few things I want to tell him." Itachi says. I nod, and we keep the weak, flesh-loving man under genjutsu and transport ourselves outside the Village. We make it to the trees where we'd hidden our things and I go instantly for my mask. I feel a wave of security as it settles comfortably against my face. My hood goes up to cover my hair, and I am properly concealed. The man snaps out of his genjutsu with a gasp and heavy breathing. Itachi pins him to a tree, Sharingan eyes dark and furious. "Chishi, go up and see if we've been followed." I give him a nod, and fly up the tree using chakra. I go to the highest branch.
We both know we haven't been followed, and that it is unnecessary, but I do it anyway. Itachi most likely wants to tell the man something before he dies. My red eyes scan all about us and I sense for chakra nearby. I give Itachi two more minutes before I make enough noise to tell him I'm coming down. "...who cares about that little whore?" The man says, his voice drifting up as I land on a branch above him. Itachi's gaze flickers up to me for a half a second, and I slide my gaze down to meet his, then to glare deeply at the man.
"Do not call my partner a whore." Itachi says. His voice is practically dripping venom. I drop down beside him silently. "She's a better person than you could ever be." I'm surprised by the emotion in his voice, and the fact that Itachi actually stood up for me. My eyes are wide behind my mask, but they're blank. My gaze returns to normal as I study the man who happens to be kneeling. His eyes are wide and slightly terrified as he meets my gaze.
"I pity your wife." I say softly. His gaze widens and becomes horrified. My eyes go black as I allow my demon to take control. "Can I kill him, Itachi?" I ask, keeping my demon in check. Itachi nods. "You're so unfaithful. Suffer for your sins." My demonic chakra whirls darkly in my hand and I stuff two of my fingers into his mouth, forcing it into him. He gags, but once it is in, I watch his eyes go dark like mine.
"We all have demons." I say softly, watching as he shivers and shakes violently. His heart thunders ever faster from fear until it stops. When he's dead, my chakra slips out of his mouth and winds into my hand, ready for another use. I absorb it and shudder as I kick the corpse lightly with the tip of my sandels.
My body feels weary and tired, and we rush home. Home- I thought of Akatsuki as home... I sigh tiredly as we enter base and go to Pein's office to report. "Did the mission go well?" He asks as we stand before him. I bow lowly.
"Yes, Leader-sama. We found the man and killed him." I say. Itachi nods his agreement. "If you don't mind..." I pause, frowning. I don't like asking for personal things. "...would it be okay for me to leave now? There's something I have to do." Pein frowns and nods, dismissing me. He turns to Itachi, no doubt to question him why his tool is upset.
I walk to my room, go inside the shower, and turn it on. I make the water almost scalding as I stand under it. My clothes cling to my body and my mask protects my face from the near-boiling water. I can't help it after that- my heart thunders and tears slip from my eyes. I take my mask off and place it outside the shower as I sink to the floor. I sit there and try to rub the man's touch from my skin. I can't believe I'm upset... this is ridiculous!
