Royal Divorce

23rd June of 1994

   Two days passed since Prince William and Prince Alastair's birthday of them turning 12. Their parents had both struggled to be happy not just for their boy's but for the public since they announced their separation. Charles and Diana were no longer a happy couple in love with their beautiful sons in a fairytale marriage. The marriage turned from a fairytale to a bittersweet marriage and it devastated the world but most importantly their sons. They soon decided that separation was the only option left to do and so they did. 

     The three children were sat on the couch with their parents on the other sitting as far as possible away from either other as they could on the couch. William sat next to Alastair wondering what was wrong with his parents while Alastair knew something was wrong with his parents and he guess that it has something to do with their marriage and some Camilla women. Harry was sat on Alastair's lap playing with a toy in his hands, completely unaware of what was wrong other than his parents seemed quite sad and that they wanted to talk to them about something important but he didn't seem interested because he was still sort of young. 

   The other son's knew that their parents were fighting and his mother would cry a lot because of it. William and Alastair thought that their parents should divorce as the marriage between them seemed no longer there and their parents weren't in love anymore and you could tell too. William loved both of his parents and if it came down to having the choice of who to live with Alastair knew that William couldn't decide while Harry loved his parents equally also but he seemed to have more of a connection with his mother as he thought his father didn't really like him much because he stood out with his red hair in the royal family and his father didn't like him. Alastair loved his parents but he loved his mother more because she understood him and he helped her many times after he found her crying in the bathroom many times because of his father. He really disliked his father and Camilla for doing this to his mother but he could never hate his father. He knew that he would only be able to live equally but mostly his father if his parents divorced because he would one day be king and their is no way his family would approve him to live with his mother all the time unlike his brother's who probably could. 

   The twins thought Camilla was quite ugly and didn't seem like a kind or nice person at all. They also knew she had two children of her own but she didn't seem like a very good mother at all, completely unlike their mother Diana who was motherly, kind, nice, and great with the public. The twins started to hate their father even though they always used the word dislike but they secretly hated their father and Camilla because they made their mother sad and failed their parents marriage. The twins would never say they hate them outload or too their mother though because they were taught better than that. 

  " We have something to tell you guys" Diana said to her boys as they confusedly stared at their parents and it broke her heart knowing that everything would change from now on. Their father and her wouldn't be together anymore, she would move out of the house, the boys wouldn't get to see her everyday like they used to, and the old happy family would no longer exist. Diana's heart would always be shattered into three pieces with one big part of it being a blank void because part of her would always be broken because of her soon to be former husband. She also knew that any events that their children had would be stiff, drama, and stressful because of the seriously declining relationship of their parents which would decline even more after they divorced. Charles was calling it a separation but she knew that sooner or later they would divorce and so she preferred to call it what it was, a divorce because basically that is what they were doing. 

   " Your mother and I have decided to separate, I'm sorry" Charles said in shame. Charles was going to play the victim, like he always did, and only Alastair and Diana knew that is what he was doing. William thought he really was ashamed of having an affair with another women even though his father wasn't. Harry knew that separation meant that his mummy wouldn't stay in the house and he wouldn't see her everyday like normal, but he thought that his daddy was sad because of it not because he was the reason for the separation or because he felt bad for being cause with another lady. Harry was a innocent 9 year old boy and yes, in certain areas he was very smart, but when it came to his parents and their declining relationship he didn't understand like his brother's did not completely at least. 

    " Will still see mummy?" Harry asked everyone slightly confused, he thought that he would never see his mummy again after his parents separated. Alastair's heart broke when Harry asked that with tears in his eyes, he must of thought that he would never see his mother again after that, Alastair knew that Harry just wanted to have a happy childhood with happy parents and older brother's who played and taught him stuff like his brother's had for a long time but he would never get that at least not as much as his siblings did. " Of course, you will Harry" Alastair promised his brother. 

   William had taken Harry outside to play with the horses while Alastair stayed to talk to his parents. He may have only been 12 years old but he was extremely smart and guessed that this was coming. " I knew this was coming, I expected it sooner than this because their was shouting, door's being slammed, people leaving the house, spending the night at other's houses, and helping mummy after she cried and sobbed in the bathroom after one of your fights" Alastair stated causing his mother to look at him slightly shocked. She knew that she was always sad after she fought with his father but she didn't know that he knew why they happened and that the other things were happening too. She felt bad for her son because he probably felt a burden on his shoulders, but she was sad mostly because he knew about that women, what his father did with her, and that she was sad about it. Charles was also surprised but only because his son figured out his affair with the women and he was worried because if he knew and about his wife's sobbing and crying about it, then that meant he probably hated his father for it. Charles knew Alastair and Henry favored their mother over him while William loved both his parents equally but he wondered what this would do to him. 

    " You know?" Diana spoke softly to her son with tears shinning in her eyes. " Yes, Will's has some understanding of it also, not as much as me, Harry knows your sad and dad looks guilty but that's it. Will's and I kept Harry away from it as much as we could, so he could worry about having a happy childhood like we did for a while at least, but he was starting to notice and figured out that you were gonna leave but thought you were going to leave forever and never come back to see him and visit" Alastair confirmed. 

   " And I know you love someone else, not mummy, your wedding was magically or a fairytale, you probably didn't even want to marry mummy. One day I'm going to be king and I won't be like you, I won't marry someone and then later on marry someone else or have an affair with some else, I'll be faithful and love her with all my heart unlike you. Don't play the victim either because I know what you've tried to hide, Will's has nearly figured everything completely out and when he does, don't be surprised. And one day so will Harry." Alastair calmed says before getting up and out of the room. 

  He went to his room where it was covered in toys, books, art supplies, and pictures of his mother, his brother's, and himself. He never including any pictures of his father because his father seemed more interested in work as William and himself got older, so Alastair felt his father didn't deserve a picture in his room. He also knew that his father didn't like Harry because he was a boy instead of a girl and had bright red hair. His father tried to find reasons to why he couldn't spend time with Harry or tried to take work on until after Harry is asleep or isn't awake yet because when he was forced to be around him, he acted stiff and cold to Harry, he didn't hold him or anything really. His mother tried really hard to get his father to look past his hair and focus on just him but to his father that seemed impossible. His grandmother, the queen, and her husband, Prince Phillip, loved the three boys, the queen seemed to favor Harry slightly and didn't mind his red hair, she loved it. Her husband, his grandfather, Prince Phillip, favored William slightly. But his great aunt Princess Margaret and and his aunt Princess Anne favored him over his brothers. Alastair didn't mind that his grandparents didn't favor him because he loved his aunt's so much. But the queen mother, the boy's great grandmother, loved all three of them but she favored Alastair slightly more. Everyone often commented on how great a king Alastair will be, they say he is great mannered and is very loved within the public. Some of them even say that he is a little Diana because he attracts the crowds, pleases them, and a public favorite like his mother is. 

   

   After this day, Alastair finally developed hatred in his heart, the people he hated were his father and the women named Camilla who ruined his parents marriage. He hated that his father just couldn't let go of the women and broke his marriage for her. He hated Camilla because she was the one who reached out to his father and she started to affair. She couldn't and wouldn't let his father from her grasps even after he was happily married to his wife and had two twins son's already by then. She was also married and had two children also. He just hated them, and probably secretly at least, always would.
