Closing my eyes, I took a deep breath and then started out for the door. God knows just how extremely nervous I was; though I was more scared of falling than I was of getting married. Heels weren't the problem here, my wobbly legs were!
Every step I took forward was small and measured with so much accuracy I felt like I was doing some sort of geometry with my feet. I was positive I looked like a walking penguin somehow despite my concentration. The picture of a bride down on the floor would've at any other time been a rib-cracking moment for me but not this time. This time it was more sickening than funny.
I was just about to step around the corner when I stopped and practically let out a silent dreadful scream!
Where on earth did all those people come from?!
My goodness! Had I mastered any witchy lines from those creepy movies, I'd have chanted all the people out of there!
I tried to focus on the decor in an attempt to calm my nerves and break-dancing heart. The sight was breathtakingly beautiful. The wedding scene had a whimsical lavender and violet tone with crystal chandeliers and a cute recurring flower motif. Tables and chairs were covered in white and lavender cloths with purple bouquets almost similar to the wedding bouquet I had in my hands, placed centrally.
It was the definition of sophistication... but still a portal to the alien world!
Why was everyone directly staring at me, awing, smiling, and hardly blinking?! Well except for my 2 best friends who were sending me secret-not-so-secret I love you messages in lip-syncs and making googly eyes.
God help their ridiculous faces! Oh and my jelly feet too. Amen!
I was about to force myself to step forward when a voice inside me said, 'Just turn around and run away!'
