Rebellious Charm

Chapter 1

The magical forests of Ionia were as beautiful as always. As the two lovebirds were walking in it, colorful butterflies were dancing elegantly around them. Some flowers were shining bright as the sunlight sneaked between the trees and illimunated their petals. Their lands were too good to be real, maybe that was why humans were after it.
Xayah and Rakan grew up hearing humans' lies. They were all selfish liars who were invading their lands to use its magic. Behind the so called "pacts" they used to look friendly, there was greed. By abusing their pacts, these lands were invaded more and more as the time went on. Most of the tribes couldn't rise their voices and accepted this as their fate, but there were rebels like Xayah and Rakan, who were doing more than being quiet about it. They were fighting for their people and lands. That was what happened until now. But what happened recently, was going too far. Xayah got an information from someone she knew. He was also a rebel, just like them. Whenever she went to him for a new piece of data, she was spending most of her time calming Rakan down later who was acting all jealous. She thought that it was really adorable of him but never told him that. That aside, her ally told her that a village was attacked by a group of human bandits.
Xayah hearing that got easily pissed off and blamed him, saying that they should have done more than just getting that information.
Rakan on the other hand was puzzled.
As if their lands were not enough, now they were taking their people as well ?
Apparently, the person who got this information was killed in action and it took them days to find his corpse that was carrying the hidden latter.
According to it, it was Shu Kha village that was raided. Human-rabbit hybrid like vastayans were living there. Xayah did not even lose a second after hearing all those. They had to go there, immediately.

Now, after a few hours, they were walking inside the forest, all alone. Xayah stopped and asked Rakan, who was supposed to be listening to her :

" Now, Rakan. Did you understand the plan ?"

Rakan closed his pocket mirror after he was done looking at his own face. Hearing her question, he answered :

" What plan ? Oh, that ! Yeah, yeah I got it ! Completely ! Without a doubt !"

Xayah couldn't help but to get suspicious of him. He most likely, didn't even listen to her, again. She sighed and put her hands to his shoulders. They were wide and strong. And they always made her feel safe. Xayah, asked :

" Could you repeat it to me then ?"

" W-Well, yeah."

" Then, do. I am listening."

" O-Okay. Now..."

Rakan put his one hand to his chin, like he was seriously thinking about it and after being quiet for a while, he moved his face up with light inside his pupils. He contunied :

" We are going to the Shu Kha village to free the villagers that were captured."

" And ?"

His excitement died after hearing her question. His ears that were pointed up just now, were moving down again. He with a confused face, asked :

" And ? Was there an 'and' ?"

Xayah sighed and put her hands to Rakan's cheeks, pushing them together, asked :

" Were you even listening to me, you birdbrain ?"

" Baby ! If you were this handsome you would be distracted too !"

" Okay then 'handsome', listen to me very carefully. We are going to that village to learn what happened to those hostages. If they are there, we will rescue them. If they are not, we will interrogate their leader and find out where they are. Understood ?"

" You are so hot when you are serious, you know that ?"
