Chapter 14 - Guns and Bonds

A week has passed since the Goblin Subjugation. Due to Tesla's tremendous contribution he and all his party members were promoted a rank. The reward was also fairly significant, 1,000 gold.

"From here on out I will only focus on monster hunting so you two will be getting 'guns' as well. It will take some time get them ready. So please be patient until then."

"What are we supposed to do until then?" Minerva asks.

"Hmmn get to know each other I guess." Tesla says and leaves the 3 girls alone.

The 3 girls look at each other.

"How bout we get a nice bath? There's this new product called soap that's going around. It's supposed to make you smell good and clean you at the same time. I got some the other day"Cannete suggested.

"I've heard of that too. It's so popular I'm surprised you were able to get some." Minerva said.

"I'd like to try this 'soap' as well" Aiisha said intrigued.

"It is settled then let us go to the baths"

Tesla is back in his Inn. Blackstar lay on the foot of his bed.

The last battle was a good experience. He was able to use the grenades in actual combat.

While the Honey Badger was a good gun he needed a gun that was more modular and a little more range and power.

It was time he made a rifle. He already knew what gun he wanted to make Minerva he wasn't so sure about Aiisha. He saw how skilled she was already with a sword. It was possible she didn't need one. Another reason was that he didn't fully trust her. He could sometimes feel her presence observing him. So far she hasn't seemed to present hostile intent. So he allowed her to join to keep an eye on her.

Tesla closes his eyes and begins to create the parts to his new gun

Florenci Public Bathhouse

The girls are sitting in a private bath soaking.

"What do you think of Tesla?" Minerva asks Cannete.

"He's strong and smart. He's saved my life twice. That's why I want to become stronger so that I can return the favor one day."

"He is definitely strong. Those magical weapons...they're powerful. I've never seen anything like it able take out many enemies at once without touching them. He'd probably be able to take out even skilled mages." Minerva says.

"But without those weapons is he truly strong?" says Aiisha.

"What do you mean? It is like a sword or bow and arrow no?" Minerva says.

"That requires skill and strength to wield. These magical tools, these 'guns', they seem simple enough to use. Just aim and fire. Anyone can do that. It is hard to call that strength." Aiisha says bluntly.

"That is not true. It is not as easy as it looks." Cannete argues.

"I just think without those weapons he isn't as strong as he appears." she replied shrugging.

"You're a beastman right? Why don't you fight him then? Minerva suggested.

"I haven't seen him fight without a 'gun' but he was able to beat Maximili my mentor a former army captain without it." She continues.

"I see." Aiisha says.

"This soap feels good though and smells nice. I wonder who invented it?" Minerva
