Ellie's POV

I woke up early as I followed Maci and Seth to the showers. Only Maci and I showered first and let Seth take his shower. We changed into our clothes and secretly hid our phones and headphones in our pockets. As we were about to leave, Four came in with a stick.

"What are you three doing up early?" He asked, curious.

"We would wake up early for school back in our world but that doesn't seem the case here. If you don't mind." Maci spoke.

"No, not at all." Four smiled at her before motioned us to move aside.

Then, he got hit the metal tube bars to wake everyone up and he turned the lights. "Listened! I want everyone in the pit. 10 minutes." Back to his instructor mode. We followed behind him as we walk through the halls. I secretly put on my Airpods so that I can at least listen to some music.

When we enter the pit, I let out a heavy sigh as I saw Eric waiting there and surprised that me, Maci, and Seth got here early than others. I gonna get enough of him staring at me. The fuck?!

"Why is he staring at you, Ellie? He hasn't looked away since we got here." Maci whispered.

"Hell if I know but I'm about to pluck out his eyes." I growled softly.

"I have no problems if you do that." Four said with a smirk on his lips.

Cool, someone who hates him as much as I do right now! Then, the other initiates came in. Physical, mental, and emotional were the three stages of training that Four instruct us. We listened and this is where he has to give in his two cent.

"Ranking will also determines who gets cut." He says.

"Cut?" Christina asked.

"It means the lowest ranking initiates will get cut. There's no turning back now." Eric stated.

"Cut? Someone should told us that...." "What? That you have choose another faction? If really one of us, you're not afraid if you fail. You choose us and now, we get to choose you." Silence fills the room as our eyes meet again but I scoffed and rolled my eyes. I really hate this asshole; he's even worse than my ex.

We were starting with jogging with Four leading the way. I look back at Eric and mouthed out, "Stop staring at me, asshole!" He smirked before walking away. I notice that this ain't over. We were marching outside and were sweating and exhausted from the jog. Until we get back at Dauntless and Four dismissed us for breakfast. I'm so hungry right now and I want to eat double as usual.

TIME SKIP

After breakfast, Four called us to gather at the training hall. He showed us some moves. Moves that I have previously learned in my self-defense class a while back. He glanced at me, then Seth, then, Maci, and finally Tris before we are practicing sparring in pares. I was paired with Maci as we both practiced our moves. We were doing that until Four announced that we're done for today and get out and went to lunch.

As I was talking, I felt sharp eyes and slammed my tray down as I glared at Eric staring at me at the leaders' table. I growled as I slid my finger across my throat, signaling I will get him if he don't stop staring at me. He smirked at my threat as I growled and rolled my eyes before lookin away. He's so fucking weird; if a good beating will get my message across, it would.

"Ellie, are you okay? It looks like you're about to blow a fuse." Maci asked.

"I'm about to commit a murder if a certain someone doesn't stop staring at me like a I'm a fucking piece of meat!" I yelled that aloud so he can hear that clearly.

"Oh, right. Him." Maci scoffed as she knew who I was talking about.

"Who else is she talking about?" Christina asked with a giggle.

I look back and this time, he isn't staring at me. Good. I hope he got that!

We gather again at the training hall and practice by pairs. Maci was my partner again. And suddenly, he shows up and talked with Four. I didn't pay attention to their argument as it was pointless as I focused on Maci.

"They reminded me of Tessa and Molly." Maci whispered.

"I know. Expect the only time we see them fighting is around New Year's." I scoffed.

"First jumper! In the ring. Last jumper! Time to fight." Eric commanded. Oh, right, I was the first jumper and that big girl, Molly was the last jumper. We got in the ring.

"How long do we fight?" Molly asked Eric as I completely ignored his presence.

"Until one of you can't continue." He said coldly and emotionless.

"Or one of you concedes." Four interrupts that starts another argument until Eric shouted, "You'll be scoring on this so fight hard!"

Maci's POV

Ellie and Molly got in positioned as Molly makes her first move, but Ellie blocks her hit and punch Molly square in the face.

"You got this, Ellie!" Christina cheered.

"Yeah, Ellie!" Seth, Will, and Al cheered for her as she kicked Molly in the gut.

"My future wife." Peter teased, making Eric glared at him. Huh? Where did that sign of jealousy come from? Whatever.

Molly tries to throw another punch but Ellie dodges it. Suddenly, Ellie grabs her and start punching her gut repeatedly. As big as Molly is, Ellie is more stronger than her. Then, she kicks her to the ground and repeatedly punches her in the face, giving her a bloody nose and bruises on her face. Then, for her final performance, she draws her arm back and knocks Molly out cold.

"Yeah, Ellie! That's how we do it!" I smirked as I high-five her.

"And you know that's how we do it!" Ellie laughed.

"Wow, you're pretty good at this, Ellie." Tris said.

"I have some practice back home." Ellie smiled at her.

As Molly was being dragged to the infirmary, Eric gathered us in front of a black screen. "This is your life. If you scored below the red line before the end of the stage, you're out. Now get outta here."

I'm thankful that me, Ellie, and Seth were above the red line but Tris is below that. No, we need to prevent that from happening. Everyone scattered and some went to the dorms while others went to the cafeteria. We walked out with our friends as we offered to hang out and get tattoos.

"I don't think I can make it." Tris said, disappointed to herself, looking down.

"Of course, you do." Christina spoke.

"I agree. It's only the first week of training. You'll get there." I chimed in.

"I'm the weakest one here." Tris said, desperately.

"Then you'll be the most improved." Christina smiled at Tris, but she wasn't satisfied at her complement.

"You're just saying that because you're Candor. You're not suppose to lie." She said.

"I was Candor and I'm not lying." Christina said before adding, "You know what? This is getting depressing. You know what we should do? Get tattoos."

"How about we get a picture first with this bad boy?" Ellie asked as she pulls out her phone.

"Whoa, what is that thing?" Christina asked, looking at it with wide eyes.

"This is an iPhone 13. Come on, get in the shot." Ellie said as she held her phone in the air.

Seth, Will, and Al joined us and Ellie snapped a photo with all of us smiling like idiots. Man, do we look good? Then, we arrived at the tattoo parlour and was amazed by the design they were offering. I got the one with a wolf on it and it looked beautiful on my arm.

Ellie and Seth also got a wolf tattoo as Ellie added a tattoo on her stomach of a rose on fire as Seth got the Dauntless logo on his chest. We waited for Tris to be done with hers as she is talking to a female tattoo artist that she introduce us as Tori. After she was done, we waited for the others to be done with theirs and went back to our dorm.
