Tris Pov

The school day finally ends and I'm surprised I made it out alive considering the amount of people that already hate me. Since Caleb is at home doing college prep stuff I walk, hoping that I don't run into anyone.

"Hey Tris!"

Not bothering to turn around, I keep walking. I've already dealt with enough bullying today. The person runs next to me, it's Four.

"Why are you walking? Do you need a ride?" His voice shows concern, but I just ignore it.

"Why do you even care? Shouldn't you be hanging out with your little group of friends? You might as well start bullying me too since all of them hate me." I snap.

Clearly angry, I start walking faster, but of course he tries to keep up with me.

He looks taken aback, but I honestly don't care right now. I just wanna go home and talk to Caleb.

"Look, I know you're mad at me but that doesn't give you any reason to think that I would hate you."

Those words go in one ear and out the other.

"You think that I'm mad at you? I'm far from that. After you left I went into a depression. It was so bad that Caleb couldn't even help me! I would tell you more but considering that you didn't even care when we were friends tells me you won't care now."

Four Pov

I know that Tris is mad at me, but I don't think she should be jumping to conclusions.

"You think I didn't care? Wow Tris. We've been friends for how many years and you think I've never cared about you?" She scowls at me in return.

"Actually yes I do! If you really cared you would've at least told me you were leaving. I never thought that you would've disappeared out of my life. And I doubt you considered my feelings about this."

"I didn't realize I needed to leave in the first place until it was too late!" I'm starting to get frustrated with her. If only she could realize what I've tried to do for her.

"Why the hell did you even have to leave? You could've at least warned me." At this point, I know she's right. I could've at least warned her, but I need to say something back.

"To save you! Everything I did was for you!"

Tris's voice softens to the point where I can barely hear it, but I do anyway.

"I didn't need saving until you left. There wasn't anything to protect me from."

"I wanted to protect you because I loved you, okay! I can't tell you why because that would make things worse. Leaving you was the hardest thing I EVER had to do." I walked away with the words I was so desperate to say. I could feel her eyes burning into me as I walk away from her life once again.

Tris's POV

The impact of the kick leaves me breathless on the cold-hard cement. The asshole then grabs my hair to pick up my body just to drop me again. More kicks hit my sides knocking any air that was left in me. I cower trying to block as many kicks as I can but nothing happens. The blows keep coming but I use all my force to grab the next leg I see. This results in the asshole, Peter falling. Molly, Al, and Drew, grab my arms hoisting me up and then Peter punches straight in the eye, forcing it shut leaving me vulnerable to these four idiots. They all let go, making my face hit the concrete.
