Four: A New Mission

100,000 Chaos Years Later

Percy's POV

"Alpha get back here! You know not to steal my blue cookies!" I yelled down the hallway. It has been fun here at Planet Chaos. I'm glad to be home. We go on missions all the time, saving planets, recruiting for the Army, stoping wars, the usual. Anyways, back to the chase. Luke stole my blue cookies again. He should know not to do that by now.

"Ohhh Luke your so dead. Uh, no pun intended," said Nico. He along with Luke were my second in commands. I ran after Luke tackling him to the ground. I grabbed the blue cookie in triumph. Then Dad walked in. I'm screwed, I thought, but then he whined like a five-year-old. 

"Why am I always left out of the cookie chases! I miss all the fun," he says, exasperated. He always loved our pranks, but he gets sad if he is left out. My father may be millennia old but he is still a five-year-old.  

"So Dad, what do ya need? And where's Mom? Please don't tell me she got buried in work again, we both know how she is," I asked. Mom always refuses help when she gets drowned in work. I was also confused about why Dad was here. If there was a meeting he would usually just teleport us to the meeting room.

"Well, number one, I have a new mission. Two, your mother is in her office planning about the mission, and no, you're not going in there. Three, meeting room in ten, you might want to grab your stuff, you will be gone for a while," He explained. I didn't know why he came all the way here to tell me this, but it must be serious because we always try to help mom when there is a lot of work. This time he was telling me to say away. I followed orders anyway. 

"Alrighty guys, you heard the man. Get your stuff and in the meeting room in ten minutes sharp, no dilly-dallying," I said. My team and I walked to our wing of the castle where all of our rooms were. Zoe and I walked to our room. Before you say anything, yes, Zoe and I share a room. We have been dating for about 99,000 Chaos years. After Annabeth betrayed me, I talked to her and Luke first. Luke and I were like brothers now, the unstoppable pranking duo. I don't know why I told Zoe. It just felt I could trust her. She and Annabeth had never been super close, so I guess it just helped to have a fresh opinion. After that, she explained her feelings to me and I did too and we have been dating ever since. 

"Are you ready for this Perce? It is a little strange for dad to come up to you like that?" Zoe asked once we were in our room. I didn't know if I was ready, and I did find it strange that he would do that. 

"I don't know Zoe, but I do know that I'll be OK if I'm with you," I said. I had finished packing my stuff into my duffle bag. A few pairs of clothes, extra weapons, and I grabbed my cloak off of my hook. Zoe followed grabbing her cloak and duffle bag as well. I pecked her on the lips before we left the room to meet up in the meeting room.

I got there to find everyone there already with their cloaks and ready to go. My wings were tucked in behind my back so they didn't touch the floor. Everyone was putting on their cloaks when Mom and Dad flashed in. Everyone kinda yelped at that. 

"Alright, you are not going to like your next mission very much, but it's kind of necessary. I fully regret to inform you that you will have to go back to Earth to stop Gaea and Kronos from rising," Dad stared at me for that last part. My eyes usually calm blazed at the thought. I still have flashbacks and dreams about that place, some so bad I wake up crying. 

"What! You know I can't handle that! You know about the dreams and the flashbacks and how bad they get! I don't think I've gotten a full night's sleep in months!" I said. It came out harsher than I meant it to, but Mom and Dad came up to hug me right after. I melted into their embrace, I didn't care if everyone else was staring at me. Gods, some didn't even know about the dreams or the flashbacks. The only people who did were Luke, Zoe, Mom, Dad, Thalia, and Nico. I sobbed into their shoulders. Zoe came up behind me and wrapped her hands around my waist. I wiped my tears and kissed Zoe, just wanting to have comfort and strength for what was to come.
