March 10th. Barracks of the 11th division Artillery unit (Current day St. Margaret's Bay)
Journal entry-#1
Orders! we finally have orders! Our unit is to head to Belgium, Germany, at a trench near Fort Guardian (Trench at present-day Ypres, Fort guardian at present-day Hooge, Both in Belgium, Germany.) to meet Commander Fredrick, The C.O. of the 12th Germany infantry division. I'm being sent with my men to help the enemy fort using my artillery cannons.
I hope I can impact the effort needed to take that fort. Those men have been sitting in those trenches for months.
I finish writing the entry just as my cannons are just being loaded onto the ship taking us to Belgium. "Everything is ready, Sir!" one of the sailors from the boat yelled over to me." On my way." I called over and put the leather journal in my backpack. I walked over to the ship and stopped abruptly at the boarding plank, giving a slight bow and saying, "Permission to come aboard?" "Granted." a man, one of the sailors, said abruptly." Why dont we take one of the Navy ships? Why a merchant ship?" grumbled Miles "Brick" Stonebrick."Because.." I started, "We need to go to Belgium without being sunk by a Russian battleship. We can get to Belgium without being targeted with this merchant ship." I finished, motioning to the ship around us. "We'll have to go below decks," I said, walking over to the stairs as our cannons were covered and secured.
