A queen in red ~

She strode into the prom venue stealing everyone's attention with her elegant and glamorous red dress and her silky wavy brown hair that was made into a low ponytail. Xuan Lu was the most beautiful person ever that night, nobody expected her to be that splendid.

Ziyi walked towards Xuanlu, not able to move her eyes away from her girlfriend. She gently grabbed her hand, locking their fingers together, "My queen," she said before taking the other hand into hers, a smile curving on her pretty lips, "You're gorgeous," she added and bowed a little before her.

"Says the stunning one," an infectious smile appeared on Xuanlu's innocent and perfect face, her cheeks blushing and her eyes sparkling like glitter.

"Do you want to play with me?" the four year-old XuanLu asked when she saw the little girl playing alone with a small kitten during the class break. "Let's be friends," she added as she kneeled down next to her.

Ziyi nodded a little as she awkwardly smiled; she was shy and weird whenever someone approached her, so they always found her sitting alone in her own small corner playing with the tiny cat that was her only friend at school.

"What's your name?" little Xuanlu asked her and played with the cat as well.

"Ziyi... Meng Ziyi..."

"Nice to meet you! I'm Xuanlu!" tiny Xuanlu hugged her cute new friend a little before giving her a piece of her small cookie. "I don't have another of this, but that's okay! let's eat it together." she exclaimed as she placed the piece in Ziyi's hand.

Ziyi's eyes were filled with tears when she remembered the first time they had talked. She was the first person to make an effort to be her friend and stay with her and never leave her side. She was still with her now, right in front of her.

They sat down at their table and Xuanlu replied to the compliments of all of their other friends who were stunned with her beauty.

Ziyi fed her girl while appreciating her existence. She felt the luckiest to have Xuanlu as her girlfriend.

They grew up as friends and enjoyed all of their time together. It was their favourite time ever. Ziyi was a little bit moody but whenever she was around Xuanlu, her mood would directly turn better, as if she were walking in a flower field, smelling every flower there and enjoying the view of the sun that slowly appeared from behind the mountains on the other side of the field.

They both walked to the middle of the venue where every couple was dancing to the slow melody that healed the soul. Ziyi's hands grabbed Xuanlu's waist while Xuanlu placed hers on Ziyi's shoulders, slowly moving to the beat and enjoying the romantic atmosphere.

Ziyi held Xuanlu's face and pulled her closer and planted a kiss on her soft lips, tasting the cherry flavour of her lipstick. Her heart skipped some beats as their lips brushed together. "How about we go somewhere else, my lovely queen?" Ziyi whispered in her girlfriend's ear before pulling Xuanlu behind her, running outside of the place.

"Where are we going? The prom isn't over yet!" Xuanlu said as Ziyi opened the door of the car for her and asked her to get in.

"We promised each other to go watch the stars on our graduation night, didn't we?" Ziyi gently pushed her girl inside the car and closed the door before entering from the other side and fixing the seatbelts for the both of them.

A few moments later, they went up to a rooftop restaurant that Ziyi had found before while she was searching online for a good place to watch the stars with her girlfriend. There were some other couples far away from where they decided to sit. Xuanlu smiled as she looked around her, "It's so beautiful here," she said.

They drank tea together before they laid down on the sheets that were underneath them and stared at the dark glittery sky. Ziyi fondly watched her girl enjoying the view of the sky above them. She wanted to protect her with everything she had. she wanted to spend all her days just with her without anyone around them, only the two of them.

"Xuanlu," Ziyi sat down, her ears burning as they turned all red.

"You okay?" Xuanlu also sat down and looked at her.

"Will you..." Ziyi shyly giggled a little and placed one hand on her neck before she continued, "marry me?" she took out the ring that she bought a month before the prom. she had always wanted to propose but she was anxious and nervous every time. "Will you marry me?" she said again and raised her hand towards Xuanlu showing her the ring.

"Yes!" Xuanlu yelled and pulled her into a warm big hug, "Of course, I do!"
