Susan had just arrived at Jessica's apartment complex, meeting up for their usual dinner and drinks as she clicked the button for the elevator as she stood there, waiting patiently for them to open.
"Come on." Susan muttered under her breath.
They finally opened as Susan kept her distance from the people coming out as they all waved at each other, since they couldn't really see each other's faces because they were all wearing masks.
Susan stepped in the elevator and pressed the button to go up to the floor Jessica's apartment was as she enjoyed the ride up, trying to think of how she wanted to tell her close friend she liked her more than that.
The elevator doors dinged as they opened, seeing people stare at her, she easily slid by them and walked slowly to Jessica's door and knocked as she waited for the blonde to open the door for her.
"Coming!" Susan heard Jessica's voice as she opened it.
"Hey!" Jessica said as smiled and hugged her.
"Hey there yourself." Susan said, feeling the weird atmosphere around them closing in on her.
"Come on in. I have dinner done, so now all I have to do is go blow dry my hair and get into my outfit." Jessica said as she hurried off as that left Susan's mind wandering and almost drooling to see what she picked out to wear.
...
They sat there at the table, just eating and drinking as Jessica's hand caressed Susan's neck, which sent Susan's body into shock of sexual satisfaction.
"So, I have to ask you something." Susan said.
"What is it?" Jessica asked.
"Do you think you'll ever get into another relationship or get married again?" Susan asked.
"I don't know, I mean at my age. I highly doubt it." Jessica said.
"You never know." Susan said.
"What about you? Do you ever see yourself getting into another relationship or settling down again?" Jessica asked her.
"Maybe." Susan said.
"I feel like you're not being honest with me Sue." Jessica said as she called her by the nickname she gave her.
"Why do you say that?" Susan asked.
"Because your body language says it all." Jessica said.
"Well, there's a reason why I'm so tense and it's eating away at me." Susan said as Jessica looked at her.
"Sue, we've always been honest with each other and I know you like the back of my favorite book. Now, tell me what's bothering you and I won't judge you." Jessica said.
"Jess, I like you." Susan said.
"Well Sue, I like you too." Jessica said.
"I don't mean that way Jess, I meant the other way." Susan said as Jessica looked at her.
"You mean as in you like me more than a friend?" Jessica questioned.
"Yes." Susan said as she looked at Jessica's look of shock of what her friend told her.
"Susan, are you sure you're sure. I mean, positive?" Jessica asked.
"I'm sure and I'm positive at the same time." Susan said.
"How long have you felt this way?" Jessica asked her.
"For awhile, I know I shouldn't of told you, so before we get into an argument. I'm gonna go ahead and leave before or say something we both will regret." Susan said as she walked rapidly to Jessica's door as Jessica shut the door before Susan walked out.
