Chapter Four: Alex's PoV

John stopped after I spoke and looked at me,"Why do you lie to your partner, you are a Spink. Yet your mouth shut, eh?" I looked at him,"I'm done talking." I tell him Rose chimed in like a little kid,"What is a Spink?" She looked at me, Her gaze went to John,"Nothing darling." He said trying to be charming, John looked at her,"You seem rather calm, why is that?" John asked her trying to act curious,"I don't know, there is nothing to be scared of." Rose replied,'Damn it Rose stop talking.' I think to myself as John grinned,"Not yet at least." Rose pulled on het cuffs softly, she continued to speak,"What do you mean?" She ask softly,"The trial starts in ten." My eye's widen,"Ten minutes and you will know what hell is like." I said looking at the floor,"Rest while you can" John spoke after me "I'd listen to him." He paused ,"Then again he did lie to you." I gave John a mean look,"Shut the hell up John." I said boldly as John went to his chair, he shot up quickly and went to Rose."One minute, and Rose I forgot to welcome you to the Corpse Trials." John said looking at his watch, hitting the trigger as Rose tried to ask,"What do you mean Corpse Trials?" The cuffs unhooked letting me go, I stood up quickly as the usual tube flew up from the floor engulfing me, I hear Rose began to panic, I chuckled,"Such a newbie." I commented under my breath, the tube shot up, the smell of wet dog filled the air as the light faded quickly, I place my arms in front of me to brace myself, something shooting me forward as usual. My arms slam into a damp concrete, I bite my tongue eager not to make a sound, something beside me whooshing forward slamming into the wall,"Fuck," I hear quietly, it was Rose thank god. I hear her pat the walls then reach and touch my shoulder, I grab her wrist quickly,"Don't scream," I whisper,"The goal is not to die. Be as quiet as possible." I said softly,"ok," she whispered back, as the wind started to pick up in the small corridor."Oh, shit." I whisper and  face the way the wind is coming from seeing a small light behind the turn up ahead I turn the other way,"Rose we need to move come on." I whispered as I began to panic, she walked straight into me her face slams into my chest making it hella-awkward,"Other way smart stuff." I grumbled,"Ya figured that out." Rose placing her hand in mine, I twitched wanting to pull away from her grip, as we began to walk the corridor was only wide enough for one person I couldn't get in front of her to lead, we walked down the hallway after a few minutes the wind cut down.

   a loud beeping noise went off five times coming from both directions of the hallway,"Five people are dead already..." I mumbled under my breath,"Wait we can actually die here?" Rose spoke and sounded like her mother just died,"It is called the Corpse Trials for a reason." Rose stopped walking and halted I slammed into her almost falling ontop of her,"Why did you stop?" I asked her confused,"I'm not moving until I know what the hell these so called 'Trials' are." She said in a loud whisper,"You will find out soon." I told her, I tried to continue walking she still didn't budge,"Not moving till you tell me." I sighed becoming frustrated,"Rose this is not a thing you ask questions about. Since you aren't moving," I gripped her hand throwing her on my shoulder with ease, she let out a gasp for air,"Then I'll move you." I continued to walk down the narrow hallway.
