Jay's POV I'm woken by the sound of little footsteps running around upstairs. I get up and fold the blanket and set the pillows aside. I grab the toothbrush Val got me and headed into the bathroom. I brushed my teeth and freshened up.
Once I finished, I walked out of the bathroom only to bump into Valerie. We exchanged looks but she avoided me quickly.
"Well well well, look who crashed here last night" Alex says coming down the stairs
"Was just being responsible" I say following him into the kitchen
"Mama I want waffles!" Kai says
"Me too!" Halston says
"Of course my sweat peas" Valerie smiles at them
"Are you staying for breakfast?" Alex asks
"If it's okay with Valerie" I say looking at her
"Yeah that's fine" Val says avoiding eye contact
"Come on kids, let's go outside and play while we wait for mommy to finish making breakfast" Alex says while picking up the kids and bringing them outside
Once the door closed I looked over at Valerie.
"I know what you're doing" I say
"And what exactly am I doing?" she asks
"You're avoiding me. You regret what happened last night"
"I do. And it's not gonna happen again. It was a mistake"
"To me it wasn't. And I know you think that too"
"Jay, drop it. It's never gonna happen again"
"Alright. You're right. It won't" I say grabbing my jacket
"Jay..." Val says
"I gotta go" I say before leaving
Val's POV I know what we did last night was wrong and Jay had to understand that. It can't happen again and I won't let it happen again. I finish making breakfast and call Alex and the kids in to eat.
"Where's Jay?" Alex asks
"He left. He had some things to do" I say as I'm setting down the plates
"Oh that's too bad"
"Yeah it is. But anyways, I'm working a double today so could you watch the kids tonight?"
"Can't. I'm going out with the boys. In fact to your bar actually. Can't miss your big performance tonight" Alex says
"It's nothing special babe. But I'll have my sister come over" I say
"Mama is auntie coming?" Halston asks
"Yes she is going to come hang out with you a bit while I go to work" I say
