(1 week later)

"I love you," I whispered, as I half Wilhelmina in my arms. She was asleep. I was not.

Since the operation, my girlfriend had seemed distant from me, but whenever I asked, she said she was just tired. I didn't believe her though. She seemed fine whenever she was alone, but she was spending loads of time on her phone. If I asked what she was up to, I'd be given one of two answers:

1) Do you not trust me y/n?
2) I'm just answering work emails.

I hated the first excuse. It made me feel bad. And the second one wasn't true, because I had asked Jeff and Mutt to not email Mina during this week. In conclusion, Wilhelmina was lying to me about something.

"Why are you still awake," the redhead groaned, as she shuffled around a little.

"Just thinking about stuff," I smiled gently, squeezing her a little in the dark.

"What are you thinking?" She pulled back a little and took my face into her cold hands.

"I just really love you," I whispered.

"I love you too," she giggled, kissing me softly.

"Do you promise you do?"

"What? Y/n! Of course I do," she laughed.

"I need to hear you say it,"

"Sweetheart, I promise I love you,"

"I promise too," I nodded slightly, and sunk into her embrace, "please don't let me go,"

"Why do you think I would do that?"

"Because everyone always does," I sobbed quietly, and moved closer.

"Well I'm not everyone," she whispered softly, and pulled me in even closer.

But I'd heard it all before, from so many different people.

"Good night y/n,"

"Good night Mina,".
