It was another cold day of hunting, not hunting regular wildlife like boars, elks or deer but more extreme wildlife, and to answer your question, not a bear but something that's worse, the thing is most of the human race cant handle it knowing that monsters that lurk in the dark exist, a few examples of this is wendigo's and Skinwalker's, most don't believe in this but there's still a quantity that do and those who have been doing this for years know these things exist, scientists call us crazy but they just cant handle the truth, in fact they take what we find and give it a natural or scientific name, our field of research is cryptozoology and as some people call us "monster hunters", now that you know what we are it's time to share my story but before that I will tell you what a cryptid is, the definition cryptid is : an animal (such as Sasquatch or the Loch Ness Monster) that has been claimed to exist but never proven to exist Contrary to popular belief, cryptids don't have to be supernatural, mythical or even all that strange—though many popular creatures acquire these characteristics as their legends grow.— an example of a cryptid that was discovered oh so many years ago is the Komodo dragon — until 1910, stories of a giant lizard on the island of Komodo in Indonesia were laughed at by any respectable scientist. However, when Lieutenant Steyn van Hansbroek caught and killed one, things changed. Explorer W. Douglas Burden wasn't happy with just a dead specimen and decided to travel to the island to capture a live one. He returned to New York City with a few dead specimens and not one, but two live Komodo dragons. The dragons were put on display at the Bronx Zoo and inspired Merian C. Cooper to write the 1933 classic King Kong. This story will feature many cryptids, I hope you enjoy.
