The sound of a smoke alarm went off, the air around was hot and hard to breathe. With the room being engulfed in an orangeish red glow, the boy was crying. The tears ran down the boys' cheek as he cried in his playpen. Trapped and unable to escape he cried out for his father and mother. The dad came rushing in, holding a cloth over his mouth and nose to try to filter out the smoke. He scooped his child out of the pen and looked around as the ceiling started to fall around him. Each piece of debris that hit the ground released burning embers. The panicking father looked around, shushing his child. Suddenly, a large pillar fell from the ceiling, once it made contact, Max woke up in a panic.
The boys' breathing was heavy, sweat dripped down his brow and onto his sheets. He looked around his room, everything was normal. The alarm clock showed it was 3:30 in the morning. Max sighed and looked down, covering his face as he let out a deep sigh. He swung his legs off the bed and got out of it. Heading out of his room he walked down the hallway. Some other Pastas were awake as some don't sleep or rather just be up at night. The floating yellow orb, known as Otto: approached him. In a text-to-speech voice, it asked if he was ok.
"I'm fine Otto. I'm going to see Slendy is all."
Otto stared at him, soon letting him walk off. The boy soon gets to the door of the faceless man. With three knocks the door opened showing a pitch-black room. This was the norm though. Max walked in and soon a couch appeared from the void. Next to it was a wooden chair, and Slendy was sitting there as if he knew the tween would be coming for a late-night visit. Max took a seat on the couch and Slendy gave a nod like he was ready to listen.
"I had that same dream again Slendy. The one about the dad and his son in the fire."
Slendy nodded once more, this was a reoccurring dream for the young man. Max asked if he has found anything about what these dreams meant, to which Slendy shook his head no. For months he's been trying to figure out what these dreams meant as they started to appear after the defeat of Horropasta. The king of CreepyPastas asked if Max has had any more happen in his dream this time.
"Yeah. Before the fire started, I could see toys. There were blocks and wooden ducks. But what stood out the most was this weird, handstitched wolf plushie. Before the boy could touch it though, the fires would start."
Slendy pondered what this could mean as the whole dream seemed strange.
"But the weirdest part? You know some of my dreams are in the third person. So I can actually see what the boy looks like right? This time I could see him clearly. And he looked like...me."
This reveal made Slendys' head shoot up. Soon he asked if he remembered anything else from his dream. Max replied no. After a few more minutes of talking, Slendy said he would use his powers to make sure Max would not have this nightmare again. The boy nodded as a reply and soon laid back on the couch. Slendys' long black tendrils soon came from his back and placed themselves on his head. An eerie black glow came from them, soon turning a mossy green color. Max smiled as his eyes became heavy and soon he drifted to sleep right there. As the boy drifted into the dreamscape, he looked around and saw he was in a white void. This was definitely different from how his dreams normally started.
Max wandered around the void for a bit, shouting to see if anyone else was there. All of a sudden, the void began to fade into a landscape unfamiliar to him. It looked like an old laboratory. Broken beakers, dusty computers, and papers littered the floor. Max has never seen something like this. Suddenly the air got cold around him as if something passed by his body! He looked around and soon a strange light started to guide him towards a room. Confused, he decided to follow the strange light that beckoned him. As he stepped into the room he saw a strange circular mechanical mechanism. It was so massive that it went from the floor to the ceiling. Wires sticking out of it that connected to several computers and what looked like old generators. Soon a big cloud of black smoke appeared in front of the device. Its figure was hunched over and it had floating hands around the body. The hands could move and gyrate in every direction, and they went towards the computers and generators. Its clawed fingers tapped and typed on the keyboards making the monitors run some kind of codes and images.
Soon the hands that were near the generators turned them on. Electricity began to flow to the machine, making several lights on the device glow a bright purple color. The sound of gears turning and power being amplified filled the air. The papers began to pick up and fly around the room as it began to fill with a purple glow. Lavender electricity began to come from the circular machine as a bright light began to flicker inside of it. But soon the circular structure began to creak and snap! Parts of it were becoming out of line and separated. The figure tried to hold the build together but to no avail, and the light was getting brighter! Max covered his face a bit so he would not be blinded by the light, but as he peeked to see the spectacle, he saw the black smoke look back at him.
"Max Manipulator. You are needed here."
Max asked the figure who is he, but the figure only repeated the sentence. Over, and over and over and over again. Soon the strange futuristic invention exploded, causing a massive purple ball of fire and electricity! Max was unaffected but as he looked around he saw the explosion consume the room! As he floated away he was the explosion spread and grow more, consuming the building, then the area, then the city, the state, and soon the explosion even reached the island. This sent Max into a screaming hysteria as he just witnessed his friends be consumed by a fiery death! As he shouted no, he soon found himself waking up in his own room once again. He looked around and saw that it was morning. Light shined through his window and his alarm just went off.
Max looked at his hands and soon rushed out of his room. Looking around, he saw everyone was fine. They were walking around, conversing and smiling. The smell of breakfast filled the air which made the children CreepyPastas rush past him, excited for their morning meal. Max smiled with relief but a slight hint of worry was still on his face. Soon Yandere Chan walked up to him and greeted the tween. She asked if he was ok.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just. Just a nightmare..."
