A Smiling Kiyotaka - Part 4

"Kei, you're going to need to be a lot more sneaky than that to not get noticed by me you know.."

"Whaat? When did you notice me, I like, did my best to stay hidden so I have no clue how you saw me."

"It wasn't bad since it's not like Haruka noticed you but you need to do better then that to not get noticed by me."

"Ugh that's basically impossible..."

"At least you know already."

"Shut up Kiyotaka" Said Kei with a little grin on her face.

"So, you're probably curious right about now aren't you?"

"Y-yea... What was that about? I know you're in a little friend group with Haruka-san but what the heck was that about Sakura-san?"

"It's exactly how you heard it, Airi's had romantic feelings for me ever since our first year but she's not courageous enough to confess or anything, so I'm just letting it be."

"Sakura-san...likes you?... She's super quiet so I don't pay much attention to her but I have no clue how I didn't realize."

"It would've been pretty obvious if you were to watch her somewhat but yea."

"W-What would you do if she confessed?"

"Well that depends on if I were dating you or not if she confessed..." I said teasingly.

The thing is, Airi is probably up there in rankings for one of the prettiest girls amongst the second years but I wouldn't date her just for her looks, she'd prove more than useless to me if I'm being brutally honest. I'd have to reject her in a roundabout way somehow.

"Huh? I-I guess that makes se-" I cut her off before she could finish her sentence.

"I'm joking, whether or not we were a couple if she confessed, I would've turned her down, she's not my type." I said in a flat tone

"So I'm your type then?"

Kind of a stupid thing for Kei to ask I thought to myself

"Well why else am I dating you then, don't ask silly questions Kei."

"U-Uh yea, sorry that was a dumb question" Said kei before she carried on.

"Anyways, so you're gonna have Haruka-san help out I guess?"

"Something like that, Airi's still my friend after all so I can't have her all depressed."

"I guess... by the way, how come you call her by her first name...?" Kei asked with a curious face.

"It's not like I want to, it's just become a habit since Haruka asked our friend group to call each other by their first names so there's no deep meaning behind it.

"Oh, so it's like that, then I won't press you anything further about it hehe."

We weren't in the most private area right now on the ship so I was constantly keeping an eye for any lurking presence and I sensed someone walking towards us. It was probably just some first year but I had to prevent being seen with Kei as long as this trip continued as I didn't want word to spread around the ship. That'd cause quite a hassle for me and my enjoyment on the trip.

"K-kiyotaka, what's wrong? You look a bit attentive right n-"

Before she could carry on, I quickly grabbed Kei and indicated to her to keep it shut, which she instantly understood and ran quickly to a safe area while carrying Kei in a bridal style in between my arms. After I evaluated that it was safe, I put her down and she seemed a bit shaken.
