As I walked down the stairs, I felt all eyes on me. Probably because this was the first family dinner I’d attended in months. “Ellie!” My mom called “look at who’s here tonight! Jacob Black!! You both used to be best friends!” “Hi Jacob Black” I say without any emotion while reaching out my hand, to shake his. “Hello Lizzie!! Jeez your still so tiny! And look at me now. You look like a dwarf next to me!” I laughed half heartedly. I didn’t really care about all this. All I wanted to do was shut myself in my room and not come out, at least not till the night was over, but looked like I didn’t really have a choice but to stay and attend this dinner. I walked away from Jacob just as he was no doubt going to make another comment on our height difference, when I saw A pale boy with platinum blonde hair in a black suit. As he made eye contact with me, I suddenly got lost into his grey, stormy eyes. For a minute I forgot who I was or where I was. My trance was broken by my 7 year old brother, Leo screaming “mommy! I’ve got this fork stuck on my sock!! Help!” such an attention seeker, I thought. He probably was getting bored and stuck the fork to his sock by himself. By the time I looked back to the place of the handsome boy, he was already gone. I then had to remind myself who and where I was. I generally don’t even think about people once after they’ve gone, but why then was my mind stuck on this boy? Why did I get so lost in his dark, grey and stormy eyes?
