Andrew wasn't sure what it was about the library that calmed him down. It could have been the soft sounds of turned pages, the quick scribbles of ink quills, or the low murmurs of his schoolmates.

However, the things that once brought him peace had transformed into an infuriating buzz inside his head. The carefully written words in front of him smeared together to form dark smudges against his third scroll of the day.

I just need a few more sentences, he thought. Then, I can nap. Or maybe . . .

"How much do I need to pay you to kill me, McKinnon?"

The Gryffindor girl in question looked up from her paper and chuckled. "I'm going to require a couple hundred galleons if I'm going to risk having Aurors going after me—not to mention your entire fanbase as well."

"Don't remind me," he muttered, pushing aside a stray strand of his hair from his face. He peered at a group of students staring at him and felt a rush of embarrassment go through him.

Andrew was never a source of attention in his early years at Hogwarts. He was always the one to stand aside as his friends garnered more and more admirers, never thinking he had a chance in doing so.

When it came to relationships, he had only ever had one and that was enough for him. The Ravenclaw would rather remain on a comfortable chair in front of a fire, reading his latest stack of books.

Once his abilities came to fruition, he noticed that people were kinder and more talkative than before. They greeted him cheeringly in the morning and stopped him to tell him of various things that never crossed his mind.

Being suddenly thrown into the spotlight puts him on edge every time he is approached.

"You might want to tone it down a bit, Drew," she said, a blush already forming on her face. "I don't want to snog your face off in front of everyone."

It didn't take much for the young Veela to lose control over his charming abilities, and with the combined stress and worry he was feeling from his work, he had unknowingly spread it towards the nearby students.

Andrew quickly summoned back the intoxicating feeling, leaving them behind with a look of confusion on those affected. He gave them an apologetic look before looking back at the blonde.

"Can't you help me at least?" he begged his friend. "I'll do anything you want!"

"I thought Ravenclaws were supposed to be smart?"

"I thought Gryffindors were supposed to be chivalrous?"

Marlene rolled her eyes before smiling and examining his paper. "It's not bad, but you should definitely work on-"

A loud thud startled them as another set of red robes abruptly joined their table, mumbling underneath her breath. Marlene and Andrew gave each other a look when the words idiotic and arrogant came from the brilliant witch.

"Hello, Lily," Andrew said, using the excuse to push aside his work before grabbing a wrapped candy from his bag. "Sugar quill?"

Begrudgingly, the Evans girl took the sweet. "Can you believe Potter tried to ask me to Hogsmeade in front of Professor McGonagall? In the middle of a lesson too!"

"Minnie?" Marlene laughed. "I can already see the look on her face."

"She was quite annoyed, and it was worse when he brought out the chocolates," Lily groaned, taking a bite of her candy in spite. "He said it was caramel filled and tried to give them to me, but it ended up exploding all over us. It was the fastest detention she had ever given him."
