Became aquainted

Kokomi's POV:
"Sweetie? Are you done with your daily study about the war?" my dad asked. "Not yet papa, I still have to finish 2 more books." I responded. Ever since I was still very little, my parents would make me study the essence of the war. I didn't mind this treatment, I mean this is how every kid is raised right?

"Sweetie, me and your mom are going to go on a business trip for a day, we won't know what time we'll be home, but when we do I want you to finish all the books." my dad said while patting my head.

"Ok dad! both you and mom stay safe!" I said as I hugged him. Dad hugged me back and said "Goodbye sweetie." My mom was never really home a lot, since she'd always be at work. My mom is probably already at the docks.

As dad left, I continued reading the two other books until I heard this crash outside. It sounded like someone fell of a tree. Is this an ambush? No, who would mess with the Sangonomiya residence at this time of the day? Well whatever it is, I'll still be prepared. I grabbed my dad's sword and headed to the sound outside.

"Who's there? you're messing with the wrong people if you're planning an attack!" I exclaimed pointing the sword at the bush right under the tree.

"Please don't hurt me.." A boy's voice said. The boy got out of the bush crying.

"Why are you crying? don't think I'll be fooled by your act." I said in a stern voice. The boy had two dog ears in his hair, it was unique to me.

"I mean no harm Ms. can you please treat my scraped knee?" he showed me his knee. It was badly scraped due to the fact that he fell on rocks.

"What happened to you? is someone after you?" I checked the surroundings to see if anyone was after this poor dog eared boy.

"No one is after me Ms. I fell off this tree"

"Why were you on the tree then?"

"Well.. I just moved here a few weeks ago. And ever since I've moved here, I noticed you through the window always reading books. You would always spend your days indoors unlike the other kids here." The dog eared boy's face suddenly turned a bit red.

"Well that doesn't explain why you were up there like you would ambush someone." I said still suspicious.

"Uhm.. I climbed the tree to see a better view of you. I wanted to get your attention so that we could be friends" His face even more red as he said that.

"Friends? what's that?" Is this required for kids my age? is this some kind of family?

"Friends are like.. you know, some people you can hang out with!" the boy's ears moved a little as he said that. How cute.

"Oh, do I need friends?" I asked.

"Well not really, you can just want friends. You don't really need them. By the way! my name is Gorou." Gorou said.

"My name is Kokomi.." I never really talked to someone my age before. My parents always keep me inside so I never had the chance.

"Woah! Kokomi! such a pretty nameee!" Gorou explaimed. As he tried to get up his knee started hurting "Ouch!" Gorou fell again.

"I'll grab a medical kit, wait for me here." I rushed into the house to find a kit. As soon as I found it, I rushed back outside and treated Gorou's scratched knee. I know how to treat a wound since it's a part of the books I study about.

"Are you better now Gorou?" As I patched up his knee with a rolling aid.

"Yeah, it feels a lot better now Ms. Kokomi. You're really good at fixing wounds." Gorou got up and looked at my sword.

"A-Are you gonna hurt me with that?"

"Oh no silly." I put the sword a side. I normally don't trust people, but Gorou felt as if he was an old acquaintance of mine.

"So Ms. Kokomi, would you like to explore the island with me?.." He held his left arm up as if asking to take mine. My parents wouldn't agree with that idea, but there was something in Gorou's eyes that made me want to go with him.

"Sure Gorou, but only for a little bit my parents would be mad if they found out" I took his hand and he turned red. Gorou took me to the beach behind the Sangonomiya residence first. I haven't been to a beach since I was 6 years old.

"This is my favorite place on the whole island" Gorou sat down near the shore. I followed him and sat beside him. The view was really pretty, as if I were reading a book about the ocean and suddenly the words turn into a photo. I was really amazed due to the fact that I haven't been outside in years.

"Ms. Kokomi, do you like the beach?" Gorou asked as his tail wiggles.

"Yes I do Gorou, It's very pretty"
