For a long time pirate stories have entertained people with exciting adventures of buccaneers exploring the seas and finding buried treasure. It's the intention of the author to mention that even though this is a fictional story and which the events never actually happened the reader can only imagine what is occurring in their mind. Though out history there has been many who have set sailed into the seven seas and one may think that their Captain Ahab or Long John Sliver and that the sea is their only home.
