"How many times do I have to tell you! You are not a knight but a princess!" the knight in front of me exclaimed, sheathing his sword and recovering from my ambush. I rolled my eyes, turning  away from him and facing a target painted on a tree.

"So what!" I can do what I like!" I grabbed the training sword and poked his chest piece angrily, pushing him back a couple of feet. He regained his balance and stood up straight.

" You are not a knight! You are a princess!" He stated again in a tone that I thought was unnecessary. I decided to suddenly took a step back and launched the training sword at the tree's target, hitting it dead in the center. The knight gasped.

"Why aren't you more like your sister!" he exclaimed over his shoulder as he marched away having grown tired of my act. She froze on the spot. She hated being compared to her. My sister, Princess Canary, the one in line for the throne, and a spoiled brat. She has always taken advantage of her place in power so that she could get what she wanted. She made my parents forget about me as she stood in the spotlight loved by everyone. As others would call her, the perfect daughter. I slapped myself in the face. No negative thoughts! I internally shouted at myself, shattering that train of thought. Looking up and putting on a defiant face, I marched away from the training grounds to one of the side entrances of the palace, otherwise known as my ever so welcoming home.

I heaved open the small wooden door on the side of the castle, leading to one of the slightly dim corridor. The large corridor walls were made with smooth marble, decorated with mirrors in between every other portrait of royal family members. The floor a smooth and shiny granite lined with a royal red carpet embroidered with flower patterns of various colors. Most of them were lilac purple. Her favorite color. She must have custom ordered this from the maids. Moving on, I took a sharp right and continued on, my training boots clicking against the granite floor as I was careful not to tread mud and dirt on the carpet. I know this palace like I know how to speak. I had spent time wandering here, hundreds of times over when I was bored. But after years, that also soon got boring. Swinging another sharp right, I ran smack dab into someone. Well, more like they ran into me considering that they were the ones to fall over.

"Well damn!" Why th' hell dya' do that!" I yelped, surprised. I shook my head.

"Well you still need to work on your manners don't you!" A shrill yet stern voice said, coming from the person whom I had just knocked over. Oh wonderful. I thought flatly. It's her isn't it. I Look down in hopes that it's not who I think it is and there she is, sitting on the ground, in all her glory, It's Princess Canary.

"Ah, just wonderful." I mutter sarcastically. Quietly, so she won't hear what I say. Or, well I thought so.

"What was that!?" Canary demanded, glaring at me like I'm some garbage who dare talk back.

"Nothing. None of your fucking business." I growled, returning that nasty glare of hers.

"Everything is my business. As future queen, of course." She boasted smugly. Apparently she loved to bring that up all the time.

"I couldn't care less if you're my queen or not, you're really only going to be a shadow in my perspective." I retorted, hoping that she would just screech and storm off like always. She did, in a way.

"You little-. I'm telling mother what a brat you are!" She screamed, huffing off past, narrowly avoiding touching me. I waited until the clicking of her heels and the rustling of her fluffy dress passed to continue around the corner.

"Geeze. She's the real brat here." I mumbled, storming down the hall to the main staircase.

I could see the stairs in the not-so-far distance. The gold railways, the colored light filtering in from the stained glass, the actual marble stairs draped in a fine red and gold tipped edge. I could see all of it. Even better when I got to the room itself. The stair room never was the one place that never ceased to amaze her. Instantly, I Hurried over to the base of the stairs and started to run up. I ran up and up and up until I reached the very top. Then, I hopped over to the side and turned around, proceeding to run up the second flight of stairs like a little child, racing for the fastest time up the stairs. For once, I had fun running a mock in the palace like this. I feel like when I'm running wild, I can be free from all my royal responsibilities. Upon reaching the top, the fourth floor, where all of the royal bedrooms are, I frowned. Damnit, and I was having fun there for a moment. I thought, slowing down as I leaped the remaining two steps, making sure to land quietly. Following the red carpet that had branched out to the sides, I turned myself to the right of the hallway that led to my bedroom.

After strolling down the hallway for a bit due to the size of the rooms and door length, I found my room, indicated by a small blue and gold self-woven tapestry hanging on my door. I use the key on my necklace to unlock my door. Twisting the key, I hear a satisfying click and slowly open the white wooden door, Revealing the contents of my room. My room was surprisingly clean with a white queen-sized bed with white and light blue bed sheets to the right corner of my room. There was a white and blue desk with some paper and other necessities sitting a top of it. Next to my desk, there stood a clothes cabinet and a hamper full of dirty clothes. Inside the clothing cabinet, there was a pole horizontally from each wood wall displaying more sets of the red clothing that I was wearing except, they all differed in color and gold inlays. For example, one was a light blue that matched my hair but instead of the metal shoulder pads, it had blue fabric that fit snugly around my shoulders and the cape attached to it was slightly transparent and had many silver patterns surrounding a royal emblem. Another was black that matched my red one. The only change in that was that it had silver inlay to replace the gold ones. Moving on from clothing, for the floor, you can see polished marble tile underneath the white, blue, green and gold. So yeah, I think that my room is pretty decent. After looking around at my room, I walked over to my cabinet and pulled the doors open. After sifting through the range of garments, I finally found spare red combat clothes and changed into those. By the filtering sun through the curtains I could tell that the sun was setting. Once I had finished changing, I plopped myself onto my desk's swivel chair and began to draw to my heart's content.
