[Camille]
I rubbed my finger over the smooth surface of the plastic cup of beer in my hand, not feeling like I was where I belonged at all.
I was following James through the crowded house, struggling to get passed everyone at the party who was having a great time drinking beer, dancing to the loud music and jumping, bodies bumping into each other. I didn't understand what people liked about that, but to each his own. There were a lot of people that I knew from school, but much more that I didn't know.
It simply wasn't my thing, but since James had asked me to come with him, I'd given in.
I didn't think I could ever say no to him, he made me surrender and give into what he wanted by just looking at me with those beautiful brown eyes; his tongue quickly wetting his lips and I was lost.
He looked over his shoulder and sent me a quick glance with parted lips that made my insides melt, and I returned him a little smile.
He suddenly stopped in his tracks and I bumped into his back, a broken sound leaving my lips. We finally seemed to have reached our destination, whatever that was, and I went to stand next to him. I recognised the boy in front of us and that we crossed the whole house made sense now: it was Noah, one of James's friends.
"Hey James!" Noah shouted, not even being completely intelligible due to the loud music, and James smiled brightly.
James greeted his friend happily and then turned to me, wrapping his arm around my shoulders, making me widen my eyes as he'd completely caught me off guard with the sudden touch. The butterflies in my stomach went wild and shivers ran down my spine, and I felt my cheeks turn red. Luckily for me, the faint lighting in the house didn't show that.
"Do you remember Millie?" James shouted at his friend, pointing at me with his other hand while holding the cup of beer. The hand on my shoulder gently grabbed it, his thumb rubbing invisible cirkles on the fabric of my top, forming clear goosebumps on my skin.
Noah nodded enthousiastically obviously knowing who I was. "Yeah, curly Millie from Truth Or Dare" he answered, making me chuckle.
"Hi Noah" I laughed. My whole body was tensed because of the lack of space between James's body and mine, his arm around my shoulders making me freak out.
"Glad you came" Noah began, taking a sip from his cup, swallowing it almost immediately. "Otherwhise he'd miss you" he added, pointing at James. He chuckled, causing his chest to vibrate against my side, making my mind go too crazy to think about the boy's comment.
"Alright, I'll leave you 2 to it" he stated nonchalantly, walking away from us with a wink and a little wave.
I'd finally processed Noah's words and turned my body towards James, but not too much and in a careful and calm way not to make his arm fall off my shoulders; I quite liked standing like that. I looked at him, having to look up a little as he was taller, and I tried to hide the smile forming on my face at the thought he'd ever miss me.
"What was that all about?" I asked him, speaking a bit louder than usual because of the loud music, the both of us chuckling right after. I admired his beautiful laugh with a big smile on my face.
He mumbled something as I saw his lips move but I couldn't hear it as the music was louder. "What?" I shouted, frowning and pointing at my ears. "I didn't hear you!"
He seemed to realise it and I could tell by his lips that an 'Oh' had escaped. He leaned in and slowly brought his lips to my ear, causing my heart to pound faster. His low voice hummed in my ears, making shivers run down my spine as he repeated his answer.
