The faint wind brushing against the window, the girl opens her eyes. Shifting out of the bed, placing her feet on the carpeted floor. It was still dark out.
She slips her feet in a random pair of shoes and walks out the door. The girl loved feeling the fall breeze against her skin and the sight of the stars alignments that create endless amounts of shapes. Looking at the night stars while taking in the fresh air.
Not a cloud in sight. Amongst all the stars, a twin pair caught the girl's eye. Singled out from the rest but shining the brightest.
Just as the girl was relaxing, it suddenly becomes dark. The streets lights shut off as well as every home light in her vision. Confused the girl would have wondered if there was a power outage, if not for the single street lamp revealing an unknown silhouette. Thoughtlessly, she steps towards the figure. Almost as a force was pulling her in the direction.
Each step the girl took, the more confused she became. It seemed like she wasn't moving at all, although she swore her feet were. Then she stopped, and just stared.
The sound of the wind singing the song of the porch chimes and the sacred tango between leaf and litter, coming to together to create this unusually calm ambience. Darkness covering every corner, only the street lamp revealing the unfamiliar man under it. The light highlighting every feature. From his amazingly formed jawline to his perfectly flowing hair, it can all be seen from where the girl is standing.
Her feet begin to move faster towards the man. The distance on them closing in, his features becoming more apparent as she is now inches from him.
Their eyes meet.
Their bodies lightly brushing with each exhale. The girl's feels her heart beating faster. She doesn't know why. She never met this man before but she felt a connection to him. Her eyes drop to his beautifully plumped lips. He sees, making the corner of his mouth curl.
Suddenly it become dark again. Darker than it was before. The wind still blowing and stars still shining, the girl stands there with only the moon providing her light.
Moments after, everything simultaneously returns to normal. House lights on, all street lights lit again, and the mystery man gone. The girl looks around searching for the man, hoping to find him in a different spot. He's gone.
She heads back home, alone and dejected. She can't understand why the man would just disappear.
With nothing to do, she kicks off her shoes and climbs back into bed. Her eyes suddenly feeling heavy she drifts off into a slumber.
Soon after the girl closes her eyes, she opens them. A single tear sliding down her newly awaken face. She wipes away the tear, not knowing why she is crying. Trying to piece it together, she tries to remember her dream.
All the memories of the dream come to her. Expect one. His face. She can't seem to remember a single feature on his face. No matter how long she racks her brain, she can't seem to remember.
The feelings she felt for the man still lingers in her.
The girl notices the lack of sun beaming through her curtains. It's 1:49 am. With that she closes her eyes, returning to her position with tiny hope that she'll see the beautiful man again.
