Night Walker

Chapter 1

Arashi exited the cafe taking a sip of coffee, but he then received a call from his partner Orson. He sighed as he put the phone near his ear, "Yes Orson?" Arashi asked in a playful yet sarcastic tone "Boss needs us in his office, something about assigning us a case" Arashi sighed "Alright ill be there in a bit, bye" "Bye!" Orson joyfully yelled as she hung up.'Another case hm?' He thought to himself as he made his way to his truck. 'I wonder what type of case it will be' he thought as he drove to the station. After a lot of bad traffic and traffic lights, he had finally made it. 'Hope I didn't keep them waiting too long he thought as locked his truck and made his way to the entrance. "You're finally here!" Orson yelled as she ran up to Arashi. "Well, you had a lot of sugar today haven't you?" He sarcastically asked already knowing the answer. "Oh come on I barely had any sugar today" she stated playfully rolling her eyes as they both made their way into the building, they then walked towards their boss's office. "Hey, Orson how did you and Arashi's last case go?" A random detective asked. Orson gasped "IT WENT GREAT! Arashi was all like 'if don't confess right now ill show you how truly strong I am!' And the bad guy was like all like 'Oh please don't hurt me ill confess just don't hurt me you big strong man!' Then he finally confessed" she explained "That's great to hear, well I have to get going boss assigned me a new case" they said as they began to walk off, Orson waved to them as they left "Let's get going" Arashi said breaking the silence."Ah welcome, take a seat" the boss said in a cheerful tone sending shivers down both of their spines 'what did you do to upset him Orson?!' Arashi thought to himself 'I didn't do anything wrong to upset him, but I bet you did' Orson thought to herself as she kept looking between him and the boss. 'WAIT HOW ARE WE COMMUNICATING THROUGH OUR MINDS!?' Orson's eyes widened a bit 'I don't know but I think it's best to not question it.' Arashi thought trying to stay calm "Hello? HELLO?!" The boss said while snapping his fingers in front of their faces. They shake their heads snapping them back into reality. "I said take a seat" he stated but this time he didn't sound so cheerful. They both quickly made their way to the seats and sat down not wanting to anger the boss any further. "So as you both already know I called the both of you here to assign you guys a new case, correct?" "Yes sir" they both responded. "Well from this point on you are assigned the case Nightwalker" Boss said as he slid a file labeled 'The Night walker' towards them. "Do you have any info that isn't in this file that you think we should be aware of?" Arashi asked as he took a peek into the file "It's quite obvious because of the name he earned himself, but his attacks usually only take place at nighttime" the boss said in a series tone with a hint of sarcasm. Arashi gripped onto the now closed file as he stood up and walked out the door with Orson following close behind him. "So are we taking your truck or my car to the library to do research?" Orson asked successfully breaking the silence. "We can take either, I don't mind" He said shrugging his shoulders. "Ok, then we'll take your truck!" She exclaimed as she began running to Arashi's truck. "Last one there is a rotten egg!" She yelled while halfway to the truck. He then picked up the pace of his walking "That's not fair, you got a head start" he said as he unlocked the truck to get inside. Once Orson was also in the truck he reminded her to buckle up not wanting something bad to happen to her if they got into a crash. "Ok fine mom" she said with an exaggerated tone. "For the millionth time, I don't act like a mom" Arashi said letting out a sigh. "I'll stop calling you mom when you stop acting like one!" She clammed sticking out her tongue at him. "child" He mumbled quite enough for her to barely understand. "What was that?" She asked Arashi "Nothing" He said pulling out of the parking lot and pulling out onto the road.
