7 Books and a Toad ~ Book One

The Beginning

A/N: I know, I know, this has been done a lot but I've just always wanted to do this so don't judge kay?

•*• Harry's POV •*•

I was sitting with Ron and Hermione in the Gryffindor Common Room looking into the fire whilst the two bickered over something of little importance when suddenly; there was a loud crackle from the corner of the room which caused everyone to look over at the ancient speaker that we seldom used.

"Hem hem" was all we heard before a large groan swept across the Gryffindors at the recognizable simpering cough of one Dolores Jane Umbridge

"Attention students and staff" she continued in her annoyingly high voice "I require all of you to be present in the Great Hall in five minutes time for a special treat, I think you will all find it very informative and enjoyable" by the end, you could practically feel the smug smirk on her face.

"I wonder what this is about" Ginny voiced as we walked down the familiar path to the Hall

"Probably something to try and get Harry into trouble again" reasoned Ron with a roll of his eyes

"Thanks Ron, really appreciate it" I say with sarcasm heavy in my tone

"Sorry mate, just saying that it probably is and I'm sure everyone else in this school is thinking the same thing"

"Mhm, yeah, whatever" I say as we sit ourselves down, me in between Ron and Hermione with Ginny across from me along with Fred to her right and George to her left.

"Y'know, I hate break it to you Harry-" said Fred

"But our dear little brother makes a good point-" George continued

"The toad really does want you gone" they finish together with an identical grin on their faces which is wiped off as soon as Umbridge stepped up to the podium.

"Hem hem" she said with a twisted smile "now-" but she was cut off by Ginny

"Speak of the Devil and the Devil shall arrive" Ginny muttered causing Fred and George's friend Lee Jordan to stifle his laughter with the result of him giving a rather loud snort into his hand.

"Hem hem" she said "now, as I was saying" here, she sent a glare at Ginny "I'm sure you all want to know what is going on and I am happy to tell you. We shall be reading a set of seven books, all about a certain student. Can anyone guess who this student is?"

At this point, I just wanted to go up and throttle the toad, I mean isn't that sort of like, illegal or something?

"No one? Pity. I'll tell you myself then. This student is our own Harry Potter and these books will reveal to you all how he is lying about He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named being back. Any last words Potter, before we see inside your mind?"

Ok, now I am positive that she is out to kill me. As if it can't get any worse, everyone looks over at me causing my face to heat up but I look up at Umbridge and square my shoulders.

"I have nothing to say to you other than can we NOT read these?"

But she just smiles a twisted smirk and picks up the top book.

"Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" she reads and me, Ron and Hermione pale as we look at each other. Before she can say anything else though, a bright white light floods the Hall making us squint. As the light starts to die down a bit I can hear voices coming from the center all talking over eachother.
