I quickly snatched my bra and shirt off the floor and rushed to put them on.

James didn't move.

"Who is that babe?"

Before i could answer, i felt a sharp pain on the side of my face. I felt myself fall, my head hitting the tub on the way down. That's when James started moving. He leaped up and sprung on our intruder. They both fell to the floor; James on top throwing punches.

Oh no! Oh no! Oh no! James is no match for him! He might get hurt! Or worse..

I quickly threw on my shirt, not bothering with my bra and grabbed James by the waist and pulled.

"James stop! Please James! Stop!"

I finally got him up and away. i wrapped my arms around him and squeezed.

"Please stop," I whispered. "You might get hurt and-and I'm scared." I buried my face in his chest and started crying. James wrapped his arms around me.

"Shh," He said softly. "It's okay baby. Don't cry. I'm sorry I scared you."

He pulled back and kissed me soft and sweet. I wrapped my arms around his neck and pressed my body against his.

"Can we finish what we started?" I whispered in his ear. James chuckled and pulled away.

"We will; that's a promise. First, we gotta take care of that cut on your head."

I reached up and touched my head until I found the cut. It stung as my fingers made conatct.

"Ouch!" I said and yanked my hand away.

"Well, what do expect? It's an open cut."

"Yeah, you'd think I'd know better." I giggled.

I soon remembered the unconscious man on the bathroom floor. I turned and hped that he was dead.

"Is he dead?" I asked as James cleaned and bandaged my cut. James shook his head. "No, I think he's just unconscious. Who is he anyway? Do you know him?"

I nodded slowly. "Yeah, I know him." I said, not looking at James. "That's my adopted father...'

"You're adopted?" He asked, shocked.

"Unforunately..."

James turned me to him.

"Unforunately? What do you mean by that?"

"I-I.." Tears overflowed.

I can't tell him! He wouldn' t understand and leave...

"Robin?" James brushed a tear away with his thumb.

I shook my head. "I-I can't talk about it right now, but I'll tell you. Okay? I promise."

I could tell that James wasn't satisfied with my answer, but he nodded in agreement anyway.

"Okay. Tell me whenever you're ready."

I nodded. "Can we get outta here?" I asked.

"Thought you'd never ask." James smiled. We both maneuvered ourselves around my unconscious guardian and i led him to my room. i looked at my bed and sighed.

James chuckled. "Soon. I promise."

I smiled. I grabbed an overnight bag and started throw in random clothes.

"You should probably put some underwear in there too, but I'm fine with you going commando. I really am." He smirked.

I laughed. "Yeah, you would love that, wouldn't you?"

He shrugged with a playful expression.

"Maybe it would save some time if you know what I mean." He winked.

That only  made me laugh harder. "Wow James!"

We both smiled.

"So what are you packing for anyway? I mean, it's good that you're leaving that house, but where are you going to go?"

"Oh, my friend Nikki is having a sleepover tonight. I meant to tell you, but I forgot."

"Do you mind if  I tag along? I mean if it's just a girl thing I understand--"

"No, no, no. That's fine! That's fine. We're going to have to stop at your house to get clothes for you."

"Okay. Are you almost done? We need to get out of here before that asshole wakes up."

I nodded and added amother few days worth of clothes. I closed the bag and looked up at James.

"Ready?"

James stood. He took my bag and placed a soft kiss on my lips. "Now I am." He whispered.
