Step by step I got closer to the cold lapping ocean in front of me. A toe went in and I flinched as I yanked it out of the pristine liquid. As I finally mustered up enough courage to set foot in once more, I let my toes sink into the soft damp sand and the water soaked my feet, trying to devour them into the barreling waves. The atmosphere was quiet and not a whisper of wind disturbed the air, but the rushing force of the salt water whistled and splashed. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath in as I got ready to plunge into the white wash. I cleared my mind and leapt forward,   I resurfaced and smiled triumphantly as I felt the refreshing water ripple near my skin.

It felt cold and calming, I could nearly feel my crystal blue eyes lighting up. A wave sped to greet me, and I ducked gracefully under the spinning barrel forming just above my head. When my face broke the surface and popped up as the wave moved on, I heard the call of my name from the distant shore. There, my Mamma waved.
