The Annual Check-Up

Izzy's POV

It is one year later, when I had my surgery on my leg. I was coming back to the hospital to have the annual check up on my leg. We were walking towards the hospital while Jake was holding my hand since I was a little nervous.

"Izz, how are you feeling?" Jake asked me.

"A bit nervous to find out how my leg is, after one year of having surgery on my leg." I exclaimed as Jake held my hand tighter.

"Don't worry, your leg is going to be fully recovered. I mean I can't believe it's one year ago today that you had your surgery on your leg. You've shown a lot of progress." Jake exclaimed as I smiled.

We got to the entrance of the hospital. I took a deep breath and we walked into the entrance of the hospital. We walked over to the Receptionist.

"Hello, this is Isabella Green. She is here for her annual x ray on her leg." Jake exclaimed while the Receptionist started typing it in.

"Yes, if you go over to the Outpatient waiting room. The doctor will call you in." The Receptionist exclaimed as we walked over to the Outpatient waiting room.

I was beginning to get a bit nervous as I really want my leg to be better, so I can never come back every year.

I was bouncing my leg as Jake took hold of my hand and he kissed my forehead.

"You're going to be okay Izz." Jake exclaimed as we saw a doctor come our way.

"Isabella Green?" The doctor called for me.

"Here she is." Jake exclaimed as he stood up with me.

"Let's go to my office." The doctor exclaimed as we went to his office.

We sat down in his office as he sat down behind his desk.

"Before we do your x ray. We need to do a check up on you." The doctor exclaimed.

"First of all, let's check your height. So please come to the ruler." The doctor exclaimed as he went to the ruler and he did my height.

"4 ft 11" He exclaimed as I came off the ruler.

i"Now your weight. Please step onto the scales." He exclaimed as I stepped onto the scale and he took my weight.

"Average weight for your age." He exclaimed as I came off the scale.

"Now come onto the bed." He exclaimed as I came and sat down on the bed.

"Let's check your heart and your breathing." He exclaimed as he put his stethoscope on my chest, where my heart is and then he started to move his stethoscope around my chest and onto my back.

"Now breathe in and out." He exclaimed as I started to breathe in and out.

"Breathing rate is good." He exclaimed as he started to check my blood pressure by putting the cuff on my arm.

"Blood pressure is normal." He exclaimed.

"Now let's take you to the x ray room." He exclaimed as Jake went to hug me.

"Good luck Izz." Jake exclaimed as I hugged him back.

"Thanks Jake." I exclaimed.

"We'll be waiting right here after your x ray." Jake exclaimed as I smiled.

I walked down with the doctor to the x ray room. We entered the x ray room as the nurses helped me get onto the x ray bed.

This is it, this x ray to determine if I have to keep coming back to the hospital, every year for the rest of my life.

"Okay Izzy, lie very still." He exclaimed as a nurse placed the grey apron on my chest and shoulders while the doctor moved the x ray machine close to my leg.

"We'll be in the other room while we take your x ray." The doctor exclaimed while I nodded my head.

I layed there very still while I looked at the x ray machine. After my x ray was done, the doctor and the two nurses came out.

"Okay Izzy, your x ray is over now. I will walk you down to my office, so you can meet your family again." The doctor exclaimed while the nurses took the grey apron off and helped me to get out off the x ray bed.

The doctor walked me back to his office as he opened the door and Jake ran to me and hugged me.

"I missed you so much." Jake exclaimed as he kissed me on the lips as I kissed him back.

"I will go and get your x rays now." The doctor exclaimed as he went to get my x rays.

We sat down on the chairs and I was starting to get nervous. Jake held my band as I smiled.

"Don't worry Izz, I'm sure your results are going to be good." Jake exclaimed.

"I hope so." I exclaimed.

The doctor came back with my x rays as I started to get really nervous.

"Hello, I am back with Izzy's x rays." The doctor exclaimed as he had hold of my x rays.

"In her first x ray, her leg is severely broken into several pieces, including one bone going nearly going into one of her blood vessels. In her second x ray, her leg is healing a bit more. In her third x ray, her leg is healing a bit more and the bone that was touching her blood vessel, moved away from it. In her fourth x ray after her surgery, one year ago today, it is showing how the plates and screws is holding the bones in her leg. As you can see as her leg is improving. Today, we took her x ray and in this x ray, her leg is completely healed. The bones are back in the normal position with the permanent plates and screws." The doctor explained about all of my several x rays that I have had in the past year.

I was really happy as he said my leg was completely healed. I was sad that the plates and screws were permanent but I was just happy that my leg was completely healed.

"Wait does this mean she doesn't have to go back to the hospital?" Jake asked him.

"Yes she doesn't have to go back. This is her only annual x ray. She is completely discharged." The doctor exclaimed as I was really happy.

Jake and Cubby hugged me as I was crying in happy tears.

"I'm so proud of you!" Jake exclaimed as he hugged me more.
