A month later, Sandhu House
Satti was roasting Rotis when Lovely yelled, "Satti dekhke!" She quickly pushed her hand, as instead of the roti it was directly about to touch the pan. "Kaha Khoi hui hai tu?" she questioned.
Dadi, who was sitting a few feet away, got up to see what's happening. "What happened?"
"She almost burned her hand," Lovely replied.
"Satti, what happened puttar?" Dadi asked. However, she just shook her head in response. "Puttar, pareshani akele nahi sulajti. Bol, kya hua."
"If only I taught Tejo this," she replied, as she rolled a roti. Her eyes teared up, "I used to always teach her to lessen everyone's burden, and now she doesn't want to share her's because of it."
"Why are you saying this?"
"I feel crushed," she cried, "my one daughter destroyed another daughter's life and I couldn't do anything. And now, my daughter doesn't want to share her grief with me."
They rubbed her back soothingly, understanding her concern. She was scared. They all were. Although Tejo had started to be more lively these days, eating her favorite food and spending time with them, she didn't speak to anyone about her feelings. What worried them, even more, was the fact that after that day when Raina took her outside, she never went to the academy. She never mentioned it either.
They knew their Tejo, no matter how weak she was she would never disregard her work or responsibilities. Therefore, they got more fearful. Everyone wondered, 'Did our Tejo get so shattered that she lost herself?'
"Just give her time," Lovely advised, "time will heal all her wounds."
"Jakham toh tab bharein ge na jab who unpe Marham lagaye," Satti said emotionally, "meri Bacchi ne toh unhe chupake Rakha hai. Nor does she treat them nor does she let us treat them."
Dadi was about to speak when someone greeted her from behind, "Pairi pauna, Dadi."
"Khushbeer Ji?" Satti got up in haste. "What are you...What are you all doing here?" she questioned when she noticed the entire Virk family there. Even Fateh and Jasmine.
"Ji woh..."
"Maaf karyega, Khushbeer beta," Dadi spoke up, "lekin kuch logo ka humare ghar mein swagat nahi hai..."
"I know," he nodded, "but Tejo was the one who called all of us here."
Satti frowned, "Why did she call you?"
"I will tell you, Maa," Tejo replied as she walked down the stairs.
Angad's House
Abhiraj and Angad were waiting for Raina. "Where is she?" Abhiraj questioned in irritation, "I told her to come with me, we will make up an excuse but no."
"Hmm...By the way, any progress with Tejo?" he asked.
"I don't know," he replied with a sigh, "I mean she is trying hard but..."
"I tried asking Raina so many times," he informed, "but she just doesn't tell me anything. I tried every method possible. How are we supposed to plan if this goes on? Plus Tejo shows her genuine feelings only in front of her."
"I am not telling you because we don't need a plan," Raina replied from behind, startling them. She sat down beside Angad and grabbed herself a cup of tea, "let things go on as they are." She saw Angad look at her with suspicion, and raised her eyebrows.
"What did you do?"
She smiled, "That's the thing, I didn't have to do anything."
"Matlab?"
