(Gabby P.O.V) Sugar has been acting defensive towards me. I'm starting to worry about how she is truly feeling. I know that she is lying to me, but why? I thought she trusted me, I guess not.

I'm not going to lie; I feel bad about that. She could have her reasons but I can't seem to figure out why. I've tried talking to her; she just keeps denying it.

(Current Gabby)
It kept happening until she finally broke infront of everyone.
Lunch time.

Student - Kane, do you need help with that? Those bruises must hurt.

Kane - I'm fine.

Student - Sorry I'm just worried(sarcasm). We all are.

Kane - I already told you guys, that is not what is happening so stop spreading rumors.
Student - it's okay Sugar you can tell us.

Gabby - That's enough, all of you need to shut up about this. If she says it isn't true than believe it. She would know as she is the one going through it. Right?

Kane - Exactly.
Student - You guys are so selfish and caught up in yourselves. You know, not everything's about you Kane.

Gabby yells- You are making it about her by talking about it!

The student walks toward Gabby until she is only 2 inches away from her face. Gabby is looking with a death glare into the students eyes.

Gabby turns and walks away. But the student was trying to pick a fight as she takes a swing toward the back of Gabby's head. She missed. Gabby turns around, dodges, and for the final touch, she uppercuts.

The student falls and the room goes silent. All that was left to hear were the foot steps of Kane and Gabby leaving the cafeteria.

Time skip

Once they were outside Gabby grabs Kane's wrist.
(Gabby P.O.V) Although I defended her in there I still need to know why she has been lying to me.

Gabby - why have you been lying to me? About the bruises.

Kane - So you don't believe me?
Gabby - I know that you got them from something else but I'm not just saying physically.
Gabby - That one time that I was at your house. There is no way that you didn't see how unhealthy your mom and dad are towards you.

Gabby - Sugar I just want to know the reason why you thought it would be better to lie to me. You can't go through this by yourself.

Kane couldn't even get an answer in before she started sobbing.
Kane - I didn't mean to. I'm sorry. I was scared that they would hit me more if they found out, that I told someone. I'm scared.

Gabby is destroyed completely seeing that the one person who saved her feels like this, it's heart aching.

Gabby - I'm so sorry, I didn't think about that, I was ignorant, I'm so sorry.- But you know that I can help you. I'm going to go home with you every day so that they do not get the chance to try anything.

With that Gabby wipes Kane's tears and hugs her, the same thing that cured her.
Gabby - Everything will be okay, you just have to trust me please. You helped me and I wanna help you, forever.
Kane is staring at Gabby admirably.

Gabby - Promise to be my best friend and I'll be yours?
Kane smiles. It has been so long since she has felt this relieved.

Kane - Of course, forever.
