Story 19 Cleo's Birthday

*October 8th 2021* 

Jen woke up early the sun shining in through the curtains. She felt Davids warm breath on her neck and his arms around her waist. She rolled over to face him and kissed him gently. He smiled and kissed her back.

Jen: Goodmorning sexy

David: Goodmorning beautiful

Jen: How did you sleep

David: Amazing thanks, how about you honey did you sleep well?

Jen: Yeah thanks.

David: What time is it?

Jen: It's 5:30, we have to get up soon to get ready for Cleo's birthday party later.

Cleo was staying over at Jens house for the week. It was her birthday so Jen and David had decided to throw her a surprise birthday party for her. They had invited some of their closest friends and a couple of Cleo's friends who either live in L.A or who were in town for a bit. They were all arriving at 3pm so Jen and David had some time to spend with her alone.

Jen got out of bed and grabbed David's hand and yanked him to the edge of the bed before flopping on top of him.

Jen: Come on honey we need to get up to get the house ready

David: But I'm tired

Jen: I know, I am too. I'm just so excited and I want it to be perfect for her.

David: Alrightt I'll get up

She got up off of him and walked to her closet to get some clothes as she was currently just in her underwear. She found some jeans and a t-shirt and put them on while David put some joggers. They went into the living room together and collected all her presents from the cupboard next to the kitchen. Then they organized them all nicely on the table behind the couch. 

It was now 6:30am and all the presents were laid out and they had hidden some of the smaller ones around the house and created a treasure hunt with clues. Jen baked a cake and they left it out to cool so that Cleo could decorate it with them later. 

They let her sleep until 8am when they both went into her room singing happy birthday loudly. Cleo opened her eyes slightly, looking at them with a confused look on her face. She rubbed her eyes trying to figure out what was happening. Then she remembered that it was her birthday and smiled broadly at the 2 mad people who she loved so much dancing around in front of her. She got out of bed and went and hugged them both tightly. David picked her up and kissed her forehead before putting her down and kissing Jen too. 

They then took Cleo through to where the presents were waiting for her. Her eyes lit up as soon as she laid eyes on the stack of gifts. She looked up at the two of them to check that she was allowed to go open them. When they both nodded to give her the go ahead she ran over and took the first one off the pile. It contained a box of bath bombs that were all glittery. One of them had the friends logo on it and another had some pumpkins on it as it was close to Halloween.

Cleo: Thank You! Can I have a bath later so I can use them??

Jen: Of course honey

Cleo Yaaay!

When she had opened all the presents she had said thank you about a billion times. Jen had never ever met such a polite, grateful, caring, generous kid in all her life.

David: That isn't it yet Cleo, there's more.

Cleo: Wait what? Omg this is amazing
