-Zoey's POV-

Its been a whole week since Cole and l went to that amusement park. And quite honestly l can't stop thinking about it.

Did we kiss? Nooooo- but- it was. No it wasn't a kiss. Did we semi kiss-? Bitch what the fuck is semi kiss.

We have not been exactly avoiding each other for the past week but it seems like we don't run into each other that often now and he's almost never in classes these days, which is a little weird as l sometimes see him in the hallways. But he doesn't even make eye contact with me.

Did l do something?

I zone out in class and think about all my life problems and come to a conclusion l need a pet like right now.

Bitch you're in class

Well as soon as possible then.

You can literally skip class. My conscience talked back again. Honestly l am beginning to question which side she's on.

I looked at the clock to see l have another 1 hour and 30 minutes left till this class is over. Yeah no l am skipping.

I get up from my seat and the teacher looks at me like she could care less. Why is this a school again?

I casually walk out of my class as if my daily visit was over and make my way to the hallway. Sprinting towards my locker l come to a stop when l notice a familiar figure leaning against the wall.

-COLE'S POV-

Fuck Fuck Fucking fuck.

My head is messing with me clearly. But not seeing Zoey for just a week just a fucking week I want to bang my head against a wall.

Not to mention a goddamn pink haired boy thought he had a chance with her. Why does she have to take all the attention wherever she goes?

I have been avoiding Zoey Adams for a week. After seeing how l reacted that day l don't think she's healthy for me. I don't have time for any drama l already have enough in my life.

But all the ignoring plan went right out the window the moment l saw her.

I watched as she marched towards her locker and suddenly stopped in the middle of the tracks and turned towards me. I didn't even realize l had a smile on while l was watching her.

I shook my head and wiped that damn smile off my face and looked at her as she came towards me with a glare on her face.

"My condolences" She said as she came and l looked at with amusement in my eyes.

"What for?" I asked as l leaned my head back towards the wall.

"I am assuming you must have died in the past week as that would be the only logical reason for why you're avoiding me" she stated and nodded as if pleased with her reasoning.

"Where do you come up with these?" I ask shaking my head.

"My cat delivers them to me" she gave me a smile but it got wiped off in 3 seconds and a sudden look of realization took over. "Oh shit right cat! Thats what l was going to go and adopt or should l get a dog wait l like tigers" she said and did a tiny roar gesture pretending to be a tiger.

I chuckled lightly " Oh yeah right now l know who the zoo keepers were looking for a few days ago" she laughed and smacked me.

"Come on lets go lexus go" she said as she grabbed my hand took off before l even got to protest.

"Where are we going?"

"Church. I have a feeling you have never been there" she says and l roll my eyes. I give her the seriously look which makes her roll her eyes. "Fine we are going to adopt pets!" She says with a big grin. Weirdly her smile makes my heart skip a heart. Maybe l am a weirdo like she calls me.

I smile at the thought how she calls me weirdo and she looks up to me "What are smiling at you weirdo?" She asks which makes me chuckle lightly.

"Nothing where do you want to go?" I ask as l take her hand and take her towards my car.

"The animal shelter boss" she says and gives me a salute. I shake my head and open the car door for her which makes her give another salute and she mutters something like "all hail respectful boss".

We arrive in front of the shelter and she looks over there with excitement and adoration in her eyes. Why cant she look at me like that?

Wait what the fuck.

I shake away those unnecessary thoughts and make my way out of the car and open the door for her. "Oh my God you gentleman" she says and she wipes a fake tear and hits me on the stomach with her hand. "When l get old and get sent to the old people center come visit me and bring French fries kay?" She says and starts walking.

"Don't you think l will be older?" I say as l walk along side with her.

"Oh sometimes l forget you're a grandpa" she laughs lightly before realizing something "Oh shit l think l am getting dementia already walk faster before they think l am too old to take care of an animal."

Dramatic ass. Before l can say anything she starts running to the other side of the road and unsurprisingly l chase after her.

She flips me off and shows me the loser sign when I get inside the shelter 1 second after her.

She smiles at the tiny animals and takes my hand and takes me towards them where the shelter worker gathered all the animals for her to pick one.

I look at our combined hands and the smile of adoration on her face. Surprisingly it makes my heart beat so fast l thought l was going to get a stroke.

I smile at her as she takes me to the animals and introduces me to them as if she had known them forever.
