The story I was currently writing was on pause for the moment. My parents and brother, I were all sitting in the living room facing each other not even saying a thing.
If a pin drop you was sure to hear it,it was like time have stop. The only thing you could of hear was mom's shallow breathing and dad's constant clearing of throat.

     "Tell us exactly what happened?"
Austin asked breaking the silence, I was wondering how long we were going to sit here not saying a word to each other.
My parents both looked at each other as if they were asking each other with their eyes as to whom was going to tell us about their deep dark secret.

They little stare down continued four minutes until mother finally spoke." Your father has been cheating on me" she blurted out.
Never have I imagine my father engaging in such a act.
"That's not all tell them Richard, tell your children why we are divorcing,"

Austin and I shared a look before averting our gaze back to our father waiting for him to talk. He never made eye contact, the thing that got his undivided attention was his fingers. He looked at it like it was mire fasnicating thing he ever saw.

"I lost everything" he said as tears dripped down his face.
"Like what?"I question.
"How" Austin added.
"I gamble everything,even the house".

The what, this wasn't my father, this person could never be him. Money was never a issue so why now, why now  would he just up and gamble it all away.
Was there a reason behind it all, I couldn't take it anymore so I just up and left. Hearing my father's voice made me turn around and glared at him and walk away.

I walk up the stairs to my room,'my room for how long', glancing around the room noticing all the pictures with my family and friend's.
I took down the picture with my family all wearing big happy smiles.
How could I not see this coming, I was living with them yet I never notice change in behavior.
A knock on the door made me jump" Mia its Austin open up".
"Go away" I yelled. I know I missed him but right now I needed the space.
"You don't mean that do you?"he asked.
"Go away" I repeated without answering his question.
"Well if you need am in my room"he said.

Then he was gone, I looked at the time seeing it was three thirty in the evening I decided to go to the library to study for my upcoming exam. Packing the necessary things I need.
I walked down the stairs with one bag strap swung over my shoulders and earphones in not even listening to anything.

Arriving to the library my safe haven my home. At least twenty people was here, I usually sit in the far corner away from the loud noise of high school kids.

(Three songs later)

Someone sat down beside me looking up noticing a guy my age, let me tell you ladies he is one fine piece of specimen.
"Can I sit here?"he asked.
"You already sitting"I said with a roll of my eyes, he chuckled like I was being funny.

My phone vibrated, when I checked it. It was Kelcy  asking 'where I was',I didn't reply just simply ignore it and continue to study my notes. It vibrated again and again and every single time it was my friend.

I swear my best friend can be annoying sometimes!

"Looks like someone wants get in touch with you" I looked up at him and notice he was smirking at me.

          What a weirdo!

"The name is Stevens, Jake Stevens"he said with his hand extended for me to shake it. I laughed at him trying to impersonate James Bond.
With one eyebrow raised he asked"what's so funny".

I shake his hand still laughing and finally telling him my name" Mia Rodriguez".
"Nice to meet you"he said.
We talked for the rest of the evening getting to know each other, it was coming to closing in time when we left he dropped me off.

"Thanks for the ride"
"No problem, see you around"
When I walked up the path to the house I was greeted with a big smile by my friend.

"Who is the hottie in the SUV.
