Ariana 's POV.
I'm Ariana Garcia' Leighton a bad**ass,as everyone says but I don't give a damn to what they think.I live in Miami with my dad and elder brother.My mom died right in front of my eyes when I was five years old.And I grew up with this rage for my moms killer.My life changed a lot when she passed away.But what kept me going was the promise I made to myself to avenge my moms death.I'll begin college tomorrow.Ijust hope something good comes from it. And most importantly that I might gather enough information on my mom killer .

The quick clicking of heels resonating a short distance woke me up. My eyes flickered at the sun peeking into my room from any window. I was still dazed from sleep and was trying to figure out if it was still morning or afternoon.
The click clack of heels was audible now and the loud footsteps were approaching my room. My brain tried to process what was happening.
"Ari are you ready?The sound of my brothers voice sent me flying from bed to the door to stop him from entering my room.
Oh God today is my first day in college! Shit!
I looked around for the wall clock and checked the time. I still had fourthy minutes to get ready
"Ari!" My elder brother called trying to open the door but I pushed with overwhelming might on the door and succeeded in locking It.
"Almost ready, I will be out in a minute!" I said breathlessly.
"Whatever hurry up. You can't be late on your first day at college. I will be waiting downstairs."
I waited for him to leave before hastily taking a shower and running to my closet to pick out a dress. I put on a pair of leggings, crop top, a pair of Vance, no makeup because it really irritates me. I packed a few things into my backpack and of course my headphones which I take along with me where ever I go and I went downstairs.
"All set ! Can we finally get going?"Alec says casually.
Go? Where to? Are you kidding me?What am I ,a baby? I'm
a grown up now and I know exactly how to take care of myself.
"And what's going on here?" My dad asks .
Would you please tell this son of yours that I'm all grown up nd can take good care of myself.
"Dear you know your brother is right. It's dangerous for you to go out there alone. "He says .
So when will it be safe for me out there?
"When our nightmare would be over." He retorts.
What nightmare . . .?What ever you won't tell me as usual. I'm waiting for you in the car .
"Don't worry this will soon be over.We are just doing this for your own good and to protect you."He says while starting the engine .
"Protect me from what "I ask in annoyance.You will know wen the time is right. He replies.
The ride to school was silent. At least I didn't have to hear Alec rant te wholester time about it being dangerous for me to go out alone. A few minutes later we arrived college. I rapidly hung my backpack and left the car so to escape from Alec's warnings as usual.
Though he still managed to shout a take care Ari. But I didn't care to turn or respond.
When I set feet in the college vicinity, I had this strange feeling . . . like I don't belong here. Then suddenly Arden ran towards me.
"O.M.G! Girl I'm so happy to see you ". She said excitedly.
"And what about Jester? "I ask.
Speaking of the devil here he comes. She replied while giving him a jerk.
"So! What's up girls? "Jester asks.
There's this hottie l heard about. He's still new and I'm sure you two will be a great match Ari.
"Cut the crap Arden. That's an impossible tense,never happening. "I rejected before the bell went I . We all separated for our various classes. Arden went in for , Jester went in for physics, while I went in for my chemistry class. I arrived the class some few minutes late.
"Mrs Garcia you're late as usual." The professor scolds wit a husky voice."C'mon go sit there." He was wile pointing to the only empty sit, which is a sit close to ''tis o I barely know which obviously mean e's a new student. I quickly move in and take my sit. This guy just remains silent and rather uncomfortably adjust himself in his sit.
The teacher continues with his lessons. "You are all going to pair up into different groups to carry out the project I'll give you guys as an assignment." Professor Kelly announces. I'll be expecting each group to produce five different perfumes which will be collected in a months time. No excuses.
"But professor, you know it's difficult to get good group members right." Says Margaret's the queen of all evil.
You all pair up with whoever you are sharing a table with.
Duh! What about me? I sit alone.
Fine then miss Morgensten you can pair up with miss Garcia and her partner.
Gah! Great! On one hand is the dumb stranger while on the other hand is the queen of all evil. Just what I needed to have a bad day.
Immediately as the bell goes this stranger guy just leaves and Margarete as usual follows him.
Wait for me Caden. She says while running after him.
I go to the canteen and get something to eat while waiting for Arden and Jester.
"Hi! Can I join you? "A cold icy but soothing voice says.
I look up to see the person talking and realize it's no one else but the dumb cute stranger.
Make yourself comfortable. I replied.
He puts his tray of food down and takes a sit opposite me.
I'm sorry for my behavior back there in class. We weren't able to properly introduce ourselves.
Hi! I'm called Caden Vegas. He says while stretching his hand forward. And you are?
I hesitate before giving him a hand shake and replying. I'm Ariana Garcia.
Nice name. He smirks. I was thinking if we could find a day and maybe go for coffee so we could better know each other especially since we would be working on a project together.
Why not invite Margarete too? I inquired.
Because I know her already. She's my best friend since child hood so there's no need.
"Alr"! I got interrupted by the evil queen.
Veggie, what are you doing here? "Excuse me". I say while standing up to go then suddenly he grabs my hand and I feel some kind of electricity run right through my veins.
I haven't gotten your answer. I won't like no for an answer.
I'll think about it. I reply and immediately turn on my heel forgetting I was waiting for Arden and Jester. I directly go home and text them later on.
