Sword Art Online Alicization: Underworld of a Parallel Universe

Part 1: The Beginning

After finding the blue rose sword, Kirito started practicing with it. He had been doing kendo with his adoptive sister beforehand so he was a natural with the sword. One day, Alice and Eugeo caught him practicing and they asked Kirito to teach them. He agreed and they started practicing. Eventually, Kirito and Eugeo chopped down that big tree with the blue rose sword. Shortly afterward, an integrity knight turned up at the village after hearing that the tree got chopped down. He said: "I am Integrity Knight Bercouli. I have come here because I heard that someone chopped down the Gigas Cedar tree. Who is responsible for this?" Kirito and Eugeo stepped forward and said "It was us".

Bercouli asked "How did you manage to chop down the tree so quickly with that axe? It should have been something that was not possible within your lifetimes." Kirito replied with "We used this sword that we found in the caves." Bercouli examined the sword and then said to them "You used this sword to chop down that tree? This sword is far too powerful for you to wield. You must be bluffing." Kirito shouted back "HOW DARE YOU CALL US LIARS! WE USED THAT SWORD WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS! WE CAN EVEN BEAT YOU WITH IT!"

Bercouli then laughed and said "Oh really? You really believe that you can beat me, an integrity knight? Prove yourselves. I will take you both on in a one-on-one duel." Kirito stepped forward to go first and said "bring it on!" They had an incredible dual but unfortunately, Kirito was defeated. He then took on Eugeo who also put up a good fight but also lost. Bercouli was impressed with their battle and said "You two are quite strong after all. Despite your lack of build. You have fulfilled your Sacred task, right?" "Yes" they replied.

Bercouli smiled slightly and said to them, "How would you two like to join the Norlangarth Sword Master Academy and become strong swordsmen? This would be a great opportunity for you two to improve your sword skills. You may even be able to become Integrity Knights yourselves." They looked at each other and then said to Bercouli, "Can we take a minute to talk to our best friend, Alice first please?", asked Kirito. "Ok." Said Bercouli. "But please don't take too long. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."

Kirito and Eugeo then turned round to Alice to ask what she thought. The three of them have known each other since they were very young and didn't want to just abandon her. She asked them "Would you mind if I came along too?" Eugeo said: "what about your sacred task? You have been studying for years for it?" Kirito then said "I don't think you can't just change your sacred task just like that. These things are supposed to be for life." "I DON'T CARE!" Alice yelled. "I want to live my own life and follow my heart. And my heart is telling me to go with my friends and become a swordswoman. I WANT TO DO THIS!"

She then asked the Integrity Knight "Bercouli Sir, would it be possible for me to come along too? I want to be a swordswoman!" The knight smiled again and said "Under normal circumstances, you can't change your sacred task. But if you can manage to beat me, then I'm sure I can find a way to allow this." Alice agreed. They had their dual and despite being winded from the previous battles, he still managed to beat her. But that's only because Alice had been studying magic for the past few years.

Bercouli was highly impressed and said to Alice, "You are quite strong. Your sword work needs work but your spellcasting caught me off guard. You have a talent for this." Alice smiled. Bercouli then said, "So, are you three coming or not?" Before they could answer, Suguha shouted "Just say yes and go with him! Follow your hearts!" after hearing that, all three of them agreed to go with Bercouli and study at the Norlangarth Sword Master Academy.
